You'll see a brand new (albeit older) Drummer Bear by this summer when I start doing all the talk shows again (and I won't just be carrying out my new book, "I Am The Red Cyclone!", but I'll be singing live again, too!

HUGE THANKS TO MY FRIEND AND MANAGER, RUSS MATE, for helping me to move the contents of my files to better folders and stuff! Thanks. Russ! Okay, now let's get started! Back in 1994, I was doing a new single with Neon Fire called, "Like Sand" (all of this is from my Drummer Demo), and the funniest moment was when Charles Herrion and I got into an argument about the song which lasted about half an hour! Numerous members of NF sat as bored as our engineer until finally I said something but with a slightly different wording to which Charles replied, "OH...! Well, why didn't you say so"? Then I said, "Didn't I just..."? Then he said, "Well, you weren't very clear''! Just about everybody laughed and so did I! Then we were right back to work and the rest, of course, is history! I also realized, sometime during the 1970s, that I actually did much better with no slippage on the bass pedal when I started playing drums in my bare feet. That's been mostly the case for all of my years behind the kit!

So, here's the actual moment, back in 2011, when Jay won his title, Mr. Stonewall Cub, and I won my title, Mr. Stonewall Bear! HUGE THANKS to JD as well as to the judges! Jay and I were the FIRST of our titleholders and JD took us both aside later and explained our responsibilities to us. He ALSO informed us that we hold our titles for life. I was thankful because MOST of the work I'd done required me to reach out to other bears in a more one-on-one fashion, Jay, however, raised all sorts of funds and organized all manner of money-raising events IN SPITE OF the fact that he must have thought that he'd only have six months to accomplish so much, WHICH HE DID! KUDOS to JAY! I later realized, reading an interview with him, that he was apparently unaware that he holds his title for life so, I guess that explains why he'd accomplished SO VERY MUCH in only a SIX MONTH period! I'm still amazed, though! How he'd managed to accomplish SO MUCH in such a SHORT TIME still boggles my mind! However, I DO remember that JD made certain that we know that our titles are FOR LIFE and, even to this day, even and especially AFTER my stroke, I can still reach out to my Bear Brothers with ANYTHING about which I can HELP THEM! That said, here is the actual moment, on the stage of The Stonewall Inn itself, when JD actually presented us our titles! Take it away, JD! (Event is on NEXT UPCOMING PANEL)

I think, while I'm waiting to do these next audio downloads, it's about time to celebrate my Son, Jay Edwards! Jay is, incidentally, the VERY FIRST title-holder of MR. STONEWALL CUB! I won mine, MR. STONEWALL BEAR, at the very same contest held at The Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, the VERY HEART of the Stonewall Riots back in 1969! Yes, I do remember that and I was living in New York! The man who'd presented our awards to us was none other than JD Welch (or, as he was known then, JD Legett, or simply, JD) JD was also a host AND performer at this event and I will post the actual video next time, of the actual winning of our titles! Jay is THE FIRST Mr. Stonewall Cub and I can hardly believe that he was only 22 at that time (I was only 52 then, how about THAT?)! After we won, JD took us both aside and told us that he sincerely hopes that we come to really love each other because, even if we hate each other, we'd still be expected to make some public appearances together since we hold our titles for life, but, as it turns out, not only did I truly come to LOVE Jay but even my boyfriend, Ronny, has come to love him, too, and Jay refers to BOTH OF US as his Daddies! JEEZ but I just LOVE Jay Edwards! We're supposed to co-host a new show together but I'll fill in the details of the delay NEXT TIME, I promise! WE LOVE YOU, JAY EDWARDS!

Now that you folks know all about my recovery from the stroke, I'm thinking (before I make my big comeback) that it's probably a good time to start re-living some of my (AND ZANGIEF'S) greatest triumph's. Let's start with the fact that I was among the few hardest-hitting power drummers on Earth! Each day will have an excerpt (and a story) from my Drummer Demo Disk (assembled with love by Luis Salgado. that's super rock performer L.A.S.E. to all the rest of you). Comin' right up!

I'm not exactly "out for the count" yet! Doing some serious training for my new appearances this summer! I'll not only be promoting the new book, "I Am The Red Cyclone!", but I'm determined to get both my singing voice (I'll wait for all the jokes to subside) back as well as my stage moves for all the talk show appearances I'll be expecting to make this year! My Son, Jay Edwards, will eventually be joining me for a brand new Father-and-Son music series on the web soon after the book! I'm all excited! LOVE to ALL OF YOU, meanwhile!

Ran into a few snags but my boyfriend is helping me out. Seems I have so many little notes, that there's a real danger of repeating myself! After the weekend, I'll get this new book more "on track". We worked out a great plan! Too bad about the talk show BUT I'll be expected to appear on MANY talk shows not just to perform again but to push the new book, "I Am The Red Cyclone!" One of my earlier guests should have been Charlie Maietta, the cosplay king probably best known for his portrayal of Nightwing (the second Robin, Dick Grayson, from Batman) but, as it happens, I was not even one of the producers. Happens in this business BUT we'll find a way to have him on our new show! Here they are together. in public, the former Boy Wonder and The Red Cyclone! Enjoy!

Okay, Gang! While I await the opportunity to begin blood tests, let's get positive so I can discuss the most immediate plans for a "total comeback" into show business (you know; the stuff I live for). First things first: in late spring of this year (2024), my first endeavor is to get my singing voice back. I'll wait for the usual jokes about that ("You mean, Mike can actually SING?!" and stuff like that, LOL) and I will also re-learn phrasing and note placement before I get out there and re-learn my stage moves (I'm determined not to do all these talk shows while merely stumbling out, carrying my new book "I Am The Red Cyclone!", in case anyone still does not know) but I want to kick off each appearance with a live performance of a new song per each show! Gotta get my chops back not only for this but also for Cold Sweat's 40th Anniversary record! SO looking forward to this! As many of you know, I was one of the top "power hitters" in rock on the drums since the 1970s! Well, I'm not having a drum machine or computer program to replace me (sounds very John Henry, doesn't it? LOL!) and I will make certain that, when I hit that stage, only I will know that I still cannot feel nearly half of my body and I still want to do a lick-ass live performance! I plan to "saunter out" with music rather than "limp out" with a new book under my arm, LOL! STROKE BE DAMNED! I want to entertain you just like I did decades before! Anywho. that's my personal plan for 2024! With LOTS OF LOVE to ALL OF YOU, and ENORMOUS THANKS for sticking by me and being so encouraging, LET'S ROCK!!!

Okay, so here's the deal: I went to the doctor today. He did some more tests. He's got more to do soon but, although I've had a major stroke, he was impressed by just how much muscular strength I still possess! He did say that a stroke such as mine would attempt to rob me of more of that UNLESS I continued to do my workouts in opposition to this! Knowing that it's too frigid this time of year to go outside, he recommended some additional exercises that would work against any muscular deterioration and continue to enhance my muscular strength. I got the charts from him and I intend to follow them to the letter while still doing my regular workouts! So okay, so here's the deal: I went to the doctor today. He did some more tests. A few people close to me (my own boyfriend included) advised me to break off, essentially, all communication to fans, globally. about that which had happened to me. However, as I'd predicted, my "fate", as it were, became known globally. via an awful photograph that depicts me in a wheelchair and even missing a leg! The accompanying blurb of a story mentions the auto crash that broke my back and left me in a wheelchair... except that none of that happened! In fact, the picture in question looked suspiciously like a similar one I'd seen this past summer of Barry Gibb (it was just "click-bate" to let you know that, although he'd had two unsuccessful back surgeries prior, this third time employed computer technology and was a success after all. I did not fare nearly as well in my story, although not a lick of it was true!)
Here's what actually happened; one of the two cats, for whom I was in Stuyvesant Town to look after, woke up both Ronny (my boyfriend) and me by walking on our pillows and I couldn't believe he'd wake us up at 6:30 in the morning just for breakfast (I was later told by my friend that he just wanted us to play with him) so, hey, I lowered my left bare foot (I was naked as usual) and I said, "Ronny, I can't feel anything under my left foot!"
Suddenly it was evident to me that I could not feel the entire left side of my body! To shorten already too long a story, I'd just suffered a stroke! My doctor put me through a bunch of test to confirm this! He found, however, that I had enormous strength in both hands so he figured out that I must've been working out or playing sports right up to the time I'd fallen to a stroke! In short he told me to continue with my workouts while sticking to my more heavily restricted new diet. I'm finally back to my workouts (indoors while we're still below freezing outside) and now learning to walk again! I still stumble like a drunk but, weather permitting, I still go out for my nightly wanks. I'm even getting a little sensation back gradually but I have more blood tests coming up soon. My blood pressure is finally at about normal! Finally out of "those woods" and I'm no longer way off BOTH CHARTS! Now, THAT'S a start!
Pictured here is a look at Classic Zangief as I'd portrayed him on the global hit series so, although I'd considerably older, I still look a hell of a lot cuter than I feel! I'm STILL planning on the BIGGEST COMEBACK OF MY LIFE so STAY TUNED!
I'll be willing myself to walk normally by the time I have to appear on all those talk shows and I not only plan to perform music again but I'll be promoting a NEW BOOK which I've already been writing and which will be called, "I Am The Red Cyclone!"

First of all. an ENORMOUS bunch of THANK YOUs out to EACH and EVERY ONE OF YOU who've sent me Birthday greetings! I'm still recovering from my stroke but that ought to get EASIER as we reach late spring and the weather becomes warm enough to get back out and practice karate AND then engage in sports again! Got a lot of talk shows to do after the publication of my latest (and first) book, "I Am The Red Cyclone!", and I can't be stumbling about on camera when I appear to discuss a new book about Street Fighter, LOL! That'd be kinda silly so I'll kick myself back into shape enough for all my public appearances! My diet's A LOT HEALTHIER from now on and I think I've learned my lesson! Yes, I was a superhero but I was NOT Superman, LOL! If it helps, I've lost about 5 pounds and I've got another 10 to go! Told the doctor that I'll be dragging my boyfriend out there with me and the doctor's REAL KEEN on THAT, LOL! Meanwhile, I also thank ZANGIEF himself for being a great AND TOUGH role model for me (oh, he takes NO CRAP from me), LOL! Meanwhile a HUGE THANK YOU to EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU while I continue to read and answer personally as much of your mail as I possibly can, I promise! Hey, Gang! This will encompass a few things so, if you'd prefer to not linger, I'll understand. If you're curious, well, HELL! LET'S GO, LOL!
First and foremost, I did a piece on one of my closest friends, Charles Herrion, a couple of days ago (you can see it at Charles' own FB page right here if you look up Charles Herrion). I was only late because, as it turns out, I'd spent the entire day and night with my Boyfriend, Ronny, whose Birthday happens to be the VERY SAME BIRTHDAY as that of Charles! Their Birthdays are EXACTLY 10 years apart TO THE DAY! But, in spite of Charles' passing, he and I had made a pact just before he'd passed on and I'm sticking to those promises, my recent stroke notwithstanding!

1) His Great Book:

Charles had created "Omnion Prime", a real action-adventure whose final chapters we'll talk about another time but which I have promised to help him finish!

2) His Brand New Record with Neon Fire:

You heard right! Back when we were to record our LAST ALBUM, "20 Years of Neon Fire" (again, more about that later this year), it was to be, unlike the 1979 documentary, "First Anniversary Party", and unlike the compilation of the 2-volume set, "Ten Years Of Neon Fire" (1978-1988), in that, THIS was to be a combination of documentary AND a suite of unreleased stuff AND a bunch of brand new recordings! One of the new songs was co-written by Charles and myself and titled, "My Own Paradise". However, except for Warren Kitt (he's here on FaceBook, too) and our live drummer (Dino from the fabled roch group, The Murder Junkies, who's, also featured in the movie, "Hated: The GG Allin Story"), the rest of NF didn't show or even call! I knew it was over by then! Happily, though, 7 of us (including Charles) will be returning in 2028 to record THAT SONG (with Charles on main keys) plus a new flip side for release on Power Voltage Records to celebrate Neon Fire's 50th Anniversary! You'll hear that HERE and at a LOT of places online!

3) FINALLY! Charles' final (and starring) performance as an actor (and co-starring with Tim Kutka) in the amazing "A Legend of Communipaw", adapted from the original story by Washington Irving, titled, "Guests From Gibbet Island", and amazingly adapted for the stage by Trish Scymanski! As Charles' Birthday was just a few days ago, the content has doubtless been digitized by now. I will preside over the final editing after which it will be included for those who really love Charles! Also. it was the very last time that he and I ever shared a stage together!
Now, about his FB page "CHUCK STOP", I'm supposed to put both that as well as TONS of audio recordings there. However, THE ENTIRE PAGE has been taken down by FaceBook and I'm trying again to re-establish the page! Now, there are even a few more Chuck Stops on FaceBook that have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Charles! Got to re-establish him here! Any ideas, Gang? Gotta do this!
Well, this evening I will FINALLY turn 65! Now, having been born in the 1950s, even then, 65 was actually thought of as ELDERLY! SENIOR CITIZEN! Even my Grandmother (who was only in her 60s back in the 1960s) was saying, back then, "Aw, when you get old, it's no joke"! She actually said that! Again, though, that was in the 1960s! Who would think of ANYBODY in their 60s in 2024 as a Senior Citizen?! Even when I did my very first n**e photo shoots of Zangief by photographer Jeannie Shaw, (whom you'll also find right here on FaceBook), Jeannie, years later, described me as "ageless", and, truth be told, I really didn't feel or look much older than when I'd portrayed Zangief so I had kind of a "Superman Complex", which was, I guess, appropriate since my most world-famous role WAS that of a superhero! Truth was, though, that I had a LOT of things wrong with me and, as my good friend and manager, Russ Mate (you'll find MateMedia here on FaceBook, too), as well as my own boyfriend, Ronald, had TRIED to tell me. my very own toxic diet was going to kill me! I should have listened, of course! NOW, at 64, I'm dealing with a stroke, although my doctor gave me numerous tests and determined that, due to the "enormous strength" I retained in both hands, I must have been doing some kind of sports or other athletics just before the stroke. I'd informed him that, just before bed, I'd been doing my kata (martial arts exercises) and shoved my boyfriend aside and slept llike a baby! When one of the cats, for whom I'd been caring, woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. I'd thought it was for food but I'd later found out, from his owner, although cats, if they could, would LAUGH at the idea of any human thinking they "own" a cat, I'd endeavored to get up and, SURPRISE! I was unable to feel the floor! THEN I realized that I could not even FEEL the entire left side of my body! Strangely, everything still worked! I just couldn't feel it!
Well. to finally wrap things up, my phone is down (another REALLY STUPID story, LOL) so I'll keep having to use social media to talk with anybody for now. Also, we're STILL in a deep freeze and I won't be able to re-train myself to properly walk again until about late spring but, then, WATCH OUT! I'll be back with a vengeance! Writing a brand new book right now, which should be finished by about mid-to-late summer, AND I'll have to appear on all of the talk shows that will book me (it's about my days as Zangief on the worldwide hit series, "Street Fighter: The Later Years", so I think it'll do well) and so I'll have to be able to walk properly enough by then! Wish me success! So, by this evening, I TURN 65! WOW! Is 2024 a challenging year or WHAT?!

Okay, I'll be honest; although I make (and stick to) my New Year's Resolution each year, this year's a toughie! I'll just have to keep reminding myself and adjusting until I've got this one down pat. Can't say it's just my natural way anymore 'cuz that just won't cut it this time! This latest self-re-invention will greatly enhance my life but I've gotta stick to it! I will, I promise, but, that said, what is YOUR plan for 2024? Or do you not make any resolutions at all? Hey, that's okay, too! Just want you to think about it, that's all, and, mainly, be CERTAIN that YOUR NEW YEAR turns out YOUR WAY! DIG? Love and hugs out to each and every one of you both this year and in the years to come! Pained and disheartened about the fate of our really cool talk show. Thankfully, after the new movie, I'll be getting to work on the planning stages of our brand new concert series! My Son has offered to join us so that makes it even more fun! Details this fall!

So, 2 great things this Sunday, September 5th! The first episode of "DB&Z" goes into full post production to prepare it for release. Then, that same day, production begins on the next episode. Episode 1 features guests best selling author, actor and stuntman Teel James Glenn and, from "Street Fighter: The Later Years", his alter ego, Vega Fabio La Cerda! Still need to book one more guest for Episode 2!

So Drummer Bear and Zangief are reunited on "DB&Z" which is now finally in production! GREAT show from the very first episode! Post production on that one gets underway at the beginning of September. Meanwhile, Episode 2 is already in the works!
