Over the past 8 years I must have counselled hundreds of people whilst they go through divorce. Divorce is hard. What’s worse? When divorce isn’t possible! Recent articles, including the one below, highlight how abusive this is to women, in particular.

No body enters a marriage planning to divorce. But marriages fail for a number of reasons. Starting the the divorce process is a reality for 20,000 Hong Kongers, 50,000 Australians, 600,000 Americans, 80,000 members of the United Kingdom, and 4 million Chinese couples, a YEAR.

Whilst it is often painful, many of these people, will not regret the decision to dissolve their marriage. Especially for those whose marriages were not safe for their physical or mental health.

Keeping women in marriages that can not be dissolved keeps them in situations where they are not safe, struggle to cope financially, and live in imposed shame. I hope the Philippines will re explore these laws in order to modernise and support women.

Are you good at being single? If you are suddenly single, this applies to you.

I am perplexed why society continues to romanticize "being in a relationship" over being single for young people. Movies, books, songs, all herald the goal of finding, "the one" as a persons ultimate accomplishment.
Why are we do negative about SINGLEHOOD? Whats more, why are we so bad at being single. When we treat "being Single" as a pit stop between relationships, we miss the chance to appreciate that for young people, and for those you find themselves, suddenly single, being single is a time of great growth.
If you do it right.
Don't just be single. BE GOOD AT BEING SINGLE.
