According to simulations done in a research paper [Link Below] by the University of Cambridge (Rajesh Singh and R. Adhikari), the cases are expected to rise after the current lockdown is removed.
The cases will also rise if another 28 Day Lockdown is announced with a 5-day gap after the current lockdown.
The two scenarios where the cases will decrease are if, after a 5 Day gap after this lockdown, there is another 28 Day lockdown, then a 5-day gap and then 18 More Days of Lockdown OR extending this current lockdown by 28 more days without any gaps.
These are the best-case scenarios as they have assumed in their research that cases are symptomatic, i.e. all people show symptoms with the virus.
It is likely that in the best interest of the nation, the lockdown may be extended.
