Check out this fantastic, creative initiative conceived by Prof. Patricia Kingori, turning the idea of April Fool's Day on its head. This week-long programme of 'April Fakes Day' events, focusing on fakery, sees museums in Oxford and London exhibiting and discussing all sorts of different fakes in their collections.

Prof. Kingori's Wellcome Trust funded research examines fakes, fabrications and falsehoods in global health, and she guest edited a 2021 special issue of Journal of African Cultural Studies on Fakery in Africa'. To tie in with the April Fakes Day events, the full SI has been made free to access until 30th April 2024.
