Just wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit about how I got into doterra and WHY I have chosen to share the life changing benefits of these essential oils with you all.
I have 2 kids Xander (9) and Xara-Belle (7) and I started my journey with doterra in July 2016 so its been just a little over 2 years now.
I purchased my first set of doterra essential oils primarily because of my son. Xander has struggled with a lot of respiratory issues since he was a baby.
• When Xander was 18 months he developed enlarged tonsils , this made him snore at night and he experienced sleep apnea. Which meant he wasnt getting quality sleep and tis affected his brain development- so he was a really moody child and very hyperactive. Doctors would prescribe round after round of anit-biotics and the problem never really went away
• When he was 3 years old he was diagnosed with glandular tb- he was on medication for 6 months
• He was around 4 years old when we noticed he started to struggle with his breathing when the weather became windy and dusty [we lived at Taurama ner the dusty road]. 3 nights in a week we would be rushing to POMGEN Emergency Ward just to use the nebulizer until early hours in the morning when a doctor would discharge us with a prescription for steroids and more antibiotics. I got tired...I bought a nebuliser for K495
I was getting tired and desperate, this cycle was never ending. I started looking at natural remedies, doing my own research. I tried flaxseed oil. I gave him 1 tablespoon twice a day for 6 weeks, the winds came and we only used the nebuliser once. The flaxseed oil helped a lot
And then Xander started as a preppie at Port Moresby Grammar school. People say its normal for boys to act up, if I struggled with Xander at home I couldnt think how the teachers were doing it. He struggled to focus and his behavior in class was not the best . This was reflected in his term 2 report. The teacher said to keep encouraging him at home and I told him we were going to try something new :)
It was around this time mid June 2016 that my sister added me to this Facebook group [our members group]. I started reading all these testimonies and doing my own research – for me everything has to be backed by science. It didn’t take me long. 2 weeks later I enrolled and another 2 weeks my oils arrived. Xander started Term 3 while we were waiting for my oils to arrive, his aunty gave us a focus blend for him to use. We applied it on the back of his neck, inside his wrists and on his shirt collar before he went to school. I would remind him every morning to smell his collar when he felt like being naughty. Third day of school [Wednesday afternoon] I went to pick him up and his teacher met me at the door, I asked her ‘how is he doing?’ To which she smiled and said I wrote a note for you in his diary. We walked back to the car, got in an I asked him for his diary. There was a note from the teacher that read : “It is encouraging to see that Xander is completing tasks on time and is more eager to participate in class activities, whatever it is you are doing at home please keep doing it” [exhale] You can imagine the huge sigh of relief I felt come over me and with tears streaming down my face I reached back and gave him a big hug… This was my sign that we were on the right track.
And we haven’t looked back since.
We used to go to the hospital twice maybe 3 times a month. In the past 2 years we’ve been to the hospital 6 times and half of those visits were for consultation purposes – where I needed a professional diagnosis [because I am not a doctor]. And once I know what the diagnosis is I would then use my oils [my personal choice] and only reach for the Over The Counter medication if I felt we needed it. So far we have not needed medication. A few months back we sold our nebulizer, we had not used it in almost 2 years. These days Xander sleeps better, we use our oils but most importantly we watch our diet as well. We have cut out a lot of sugar, no fizzy drinks. We try to eat more vegetables and cut out processed tin food. Taking care of our GUT Health plays a major role in supporting our immune systems.
For me personally, I have been using these oils to support myself physically and emotionally. I was sexually abused as a child and have had to grow up really quickly. I am 35 years old and my life experiences have taught me a lot about love and forgiveness.Since these oils came into my life I have been on a journey of HEALING. Slowly peeling back layers and finding out a lot about myself WHO I am and my purpose here in this life. And it has been beautiful :)
I have a lot of sisters and friends with young children as well. So when I got introduced to these oils , naturally I shared them with my sisters and friends and once they started having their own experiences with these oils they too started sharing with their friends and family. Never in a million years did I ever see myself promoting a product. But when you find something that changes your life why wouldn’t you share it with others?
A handful of us do the business of Doterra which is basically using the products, sharing the products and teaching others to do the same. I have a team of close to 400 members. 95 % of whom are just customers who are using the products for themselves and making small changes towards a healthier lifestyle. We have a Facebook support group for all our members as well.
I hope that by sharing my story some part of it resonates with you and that when you’re ready to take that step please know that I am here to support you.
Thank you for being here.
Love,
Charky
