Life in Germany is not just gold and glitter ✨
You are on your own for everything. No house help, no duhdwala bhaiiya no bhajiwala bhaiiya.
No kamwali bai, no shopping on sundays. Assemble your own furniture, fix your own lights, drill walls by yourself.
On top of that, study/ work or both. Manage family if you are here with one. Raise kids in case you have any or many. Learn the language, practice it.
Have less friends, less time for friends, work hard. Have a little to no sun, have D3 deficiency and have mood swings.
Crave for indian food, miss family, miss warmth and vibe of home.
Feel like you don’t belong here and feel the same about India after a while.
Not everyone talks about challenges that one might face overseas. For sure this makes you grow, but be informed that this is not easy and not for everyone. I have immense respect for people who have settled outside, I mean that definitely takes a lot.
Since no-one really talks about it, I just wanted to say it out loud.
Also I am extremely proud of my own journey and how tough it has made me.
