Houston’s most anticipated glamorous gala, the 8th Annual Operation Smile Houston Gala, hosted at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, was a spectacular evening of philanthropy and glamor, raising more than $465,000 to provide life-changing surgeries for children across the globe. In the realm of Houston’s diverse spectra of global philanthropic leadership, LCAHouston International Society Magazine ventured out on a journey with a few of UNICEF’s powerhouse of global change makers. Asia Society Texas Center (ASTC) will re-open its exhibitions to the public on Wednesday, June 3, with enhanced health and safety protocols in place to ensure visitors’ and staff’s well-being. ASTC’s current exhibitions Eternal Offerings: Chinese Ritual Bronzes and Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form will be available for viewing each Wednesday through Saturday 11am-6pm and on Sundays 10am-4pm. Just a few days prior to International Women’s Day, LCAHouston Host/Founder Ruchi Mukherjee along with Neiman Marcus hosted the Honoree Announcement Kick Off celebration for the Annual International Mother’s Day Soirée. Ms. Mukherjee started her career as a journalist in India. The Annual International Mother’s Day Soirée is an inspiration from one of her series of stories she had written for The Statesman and The Times of India on the Fabulous and Philanthropic Mothers of Houston.
