I am very pleased to announce that the Wychwood Cycle is complete! It took over a year of effort and a lot of help, but we made it to the end of production. Big thanks to J.P. Wogaman for providing us with a fantastic original score and Matt West of Mad Box for his hard work on the color grade! The film is already being submitted to festivals for the second half of the 2024 season, and we should start getting word back by the end of the month. In the meantime, I am going to arrange a screening so that everyone who worked on the film or supported us through donations can come and see it together. Watch this space for more details soon, and my sincerest gratitude to all our GoFundMe supporters for helping us reach our goals.

The Northern Virginia Motion Picture Co-Op is casting parts for two short films that will be shooting this summer. We are having auditions on the evening of Wednesday, March 20th at the Howell Branch Library in Meeting Room 3: 806 Lyons Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22406. The two projects and parts available are:

FILM: Angel in Hell - a WWII bomber pilot trapped behind enemy lines gets unexpected help when the pinup girl painted on the nose of his crashed plane comes to life to guide him home. Shooting days are 4 in mid-July, final scheduling and location TBD. Pay is $100/day for shooting days and $50/Day for Makeup/Costume tests . Some segments will require prosthetic makeup and face/body painting. Commitment is 4 shooting days and 1 day for makeup/costume tests.

JOE
Gender: Male - Ethnicity: Any - Age Range: 18-35 - Dialogue.

Joe is a fighter pilot, but he is a broken man in a hopeless situation. A young enlisted man, he should have a country twang, as a farm boy who joined the war effort. He is wounded and limps through most of the story. As the story goes, with the help of Pin Up, he finds the will in himself to get home. We need someone who has an athletic, hot shot pilot look.

PIN UP
Gender: Female - Ethnicity: Any - Age Range: 18-35 - Dialogue.

Based on the pin ups from the nose art and propaganda of WW2, Pin Up is a fantasy character matter of factly in the real world. Poised, strong, and sexy, to sweet, nurturing, affectionate. We need someone who can go from a Sexy-Tough-Girl caricature, to a romantic ingénue, to a real woman in the real world.


FILM: Dead - a patient arrives at the hospital with no vital signs, but somehow he's still walking and talking. Commitment is 1 or 2 days shooting sometime in May or June, final scheduling TBD. Pay is $100/Day for shooting days.

- THE PATIENT: Male, Late 30's+, Worn down by life, confused by his condition, and not very assertive
- THE NURSE: M or F, 30+, Professional and friendly but overworked and jaded
- YOUNG DOCTOR: M of F, 30's - Early 40's, Serious and scientifically minded, logical, opinionated
- OLD DOCTOR: M or F, Mid 40's+, Jocular and friendly but very much in charge

The Co-Op is pleased to announce TWO projects going into production in 2024. The first is our partner project with the Virginia Screenwriters Forum. We will be producing "DEAD", written by the VSF's Bob Eason - the story of a man who goes into urgent care not feeling quite right, only to discover that he no longer has any vital signs. Robert Kendzie will be directing on this film. The other project is "Angel in Hell" a short film that will be directed by our Koby Garcia based on his screenplay about a WWII bomber pilot who gets shot down behind enemy lies and is helped home by a beautiful vision of the pinup girl from his plane's nose art. We're looking forward to seeing both of these fun films move forward in the coming months!

Production on "Seasons' Cycle" is only a little over 3 weeks away! There's still a lot to do, but all will be in place when it comes to the shoot date. Very soon call sheets will be going out! We're looking forward to capturing some beautiful images in July. Also at this time I'd like to announce that Fredericksburg's own award-winning actor Joshua Cole has joined the cast in the role of The Hunter! Josh has been an active member of Stage Door productions improv team and is well-known for being active in the local community theater scene. We look forward to his performance! We are pleased to announce that Kate Kenworthy has been cast in the lead role of "Seasons' Cycle" Kate will be playing Loriella, the nymph of the forest. They bring not only charm and wit to the role, but an intense physical acting style which I am sure will make the character come alive on screen.
