MARCH 2025 - The number of Americans taking out early “Hardship” withdrawals from their 401/k retirement accounts reached an all time high, beginning in 2020- until now. This is usually avoided if at all possible before rhe age of 59 1/2 due to the 10% penalty charged. The average retirement account has $148,000 balance. Alternatively for those not needing the money 45% of contributors actually increased their deposits. The largest increase since 2019.

MARCH 2025 - Economics News - WALGREENS Pharmacy will go from a publicly traded company on the stock exchange to a privately held company agreeing to be bought out amongst years struggling to make a profit. This just goes to show how tricky investing can be; look at the stock chart below, if you had purchased walgreens stock for your retirement 10 years ago at $98 per share; and now today it is being bought out at $11 per share you are losing almost 90% of all your money invested! And going back 10 years ago; one would have used common sense and thought… hmm.. a Pharmacy Chain.. how could they not make money with an huge aging population and American Healthcare loves drugs and prescriptions, the big Pharma makes a killing off sick people; so a chain of drug stores surely will do great!! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️. But nope.. lost your behind. Never know ?

MARCH 2025 - Even though inflation seems out of control and living more expensive these days; MISSISSIPPI is still one of the cheapest states to live in! The hot button items lately seem to be EGGS and HOUSING…..but let’s see the glass half full and name a few items you can think of that the price have little changed over the past 10-15 yrs or seems cheap to you now…🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️. For one MILK ! You can buy a gallon of milk for $2.99 that has been that way forever! BACON you can buy those big 40oz packs for $8.99 all the time on sale. That’s been that way for years now! Gasoline has always been much cheaper in Mississippi. CABBAGE - you can get that for .69 lb all the time, Bags of Potatoes $2.99-$3.99 for a 10lb bag on sale. Been that way for years… those huge fountain drinks you get at dodges or other quick stops been .89 cents since 1860! You can still get $1.00 tacos! WHAT ITEMS or SERVICES do you still see as a good deal? WHAT IITEMS have you noticed are just outrageous now?

MARCH 10, 2025 - Today MISSISSIPPI NEWS - A medical Helicopter crashed killing all 3 medical staff on board. It happened close to Jackson where a patient had been dropped off earlier, the helicopter and crew were based out of Columbus MS.

Deal of the Week .. ok so i’m not a big “fish sandwich” customer; but… the Checker’s Crispy Fish Sandwich is probably the best one in the local fast food sector and for sure the price at $1.50 !! It pretty much looks like it does in the advertisements.. the crispy square fillet, with tartar sauce, lettuce, sesame seed bun. It is not a bad sandwich; well worth the current sales price. WHAT DO YOU THINK ? Tried it? Who has best fish sandwich for the money?
