Last week, my thoughts were shared in the 🗞️

Did the article include everything I wanted to express? Of course not. But it still felt big to me — especially reflecting back on my first year of college where I took a class literally called “Reading The New York Times”. In that era, there were so many times I purchased, opened up and thoroughly read the physical newspaper. 📰

This article was focused on exploring the idea of cultural appropriation and “where to draw the line” between inspiration and appropriation. One thing I wish came through (but didn’t really make the cut) from my interview was the importance of COMPENSATION and COLLABORATION through partnering with and PAYING artists and designers connected to the place where inspiration originates.

Dropping the full piece on the grid so if you’re interested, you can read it. And shouting out / “crediting” some of the folks who have been instrumental in my personal learnings over the years. 🫶

Anticipating new babe’s arrival: June 2025. 🌸

So many things going on, yet all I can think about is immense gratitude — for my little family, for so much nonstop learning as a mother, for building new businesses and projects while growing a human and for learning to let go of the nonstop “shoulds” and “shouldn’ts” circulating throughout my mind. 🦋

Parenting is an adventure — I can’t imagine riding the waves with anyone else besides you 🫶

Some massive big sis energy coming through in these photos. 🩷❤️🧡

Do I like mirrors? 🪞 Yes, but what’s wrong with admiring an outfit if I love it!?

But real talk — to me, posting outfits daily isn’t about vanity. It’s about storytelling, sustainability and branding. 📸

You may be confused or wondering WTF do these diverse realms have to do with putting on an some clothes. For me — EVERYTHING! 🕸️

Putting together an outfit is absolutely a form of storytelling — I’ve always thought of it as a form of art, because it’s like putting together a composition by layering elements on top of a body, instead of a canvas. 🖼️

When you know the stories behind each of these garments — whether they are handed over from a family member, having cultural significance, have stories embedded in them from your experiences wearing them, or have stories in them from where you acquired them … there’s deep storytelling connected to how you dress, and that matters.

Not only do these intimate connections make getting dressed more meaningful, they lead you to build real relationships with your clothing, which means you tend to care for these garments more thoughtfully. They then last longer, and allow you to more naturally hone in on your personal style.

Identifying your personal style is a key part of building your brand. The colors you regularly wear become a part of your visual identity, and people will recognize you / your brand based on certain unique identifiers of your style.

So the next time someone says “fashion is frivolous” … remember that the choices you make when it comes to your clothing matter. From sustainability to branding to storytelling, style is a part of all of these distinct conversations.

If you’re curious to dive deeper into the nuances connected to storytelling, branding and sustainability for your business, the SMBL System is the best place to start.

Comment BIG and we’ll send you a link to learn more about our business-building system and how it can support you and your business.

While it can be challenging to fathom, especially being so deep within the sustainability and fashion conversation, fast fashion is booming. 🤯

From the H&Ms and Zaras, to the more recent addition of ultra fast fashion brands like Shein and Temu, our culture is addicted to fast fashion. From the cheap prices to the convenience factor to the instant gratification, the allure of fast fashion is real. 🛍️

But as many of you know, buying fast fashion comes with an intense environmental and human impact.

Fast fashion aligns itself with disposability and waste, boasting crazy low prices. The materials are predominantly synthetic and often lose their shape after a couple washes. The synthetic materials shed loads of microplastics into the environment. Waste colonialism impacts places around the world like Chile, Ghana and beyond. Garment workers face exploitation and non-livable wages. All the while, social media and marketing continue to drive us to think we need another new piece of clothing to stay relevant. 🗑️

It’s a lot. And that’s why I am so excited for this conversation – and to be cohosting this month’s Anti Fast Fashion Challenge with my friends at ✨

It’s a way for us to collectively come together to challenge that intense urge to buy another cheap item, and instead – not shop, mend something, get something tailored, shop secondhand, or invest in a brand that centers sustainability.

Tune in for this week’s show featuring Sanchali Pal, Founder & CEO of Commons, to learn more about their app and how to join us in the challenge. 🎧

So excited to share with you all the refreshed Conscious Chatter podcast album cover. 🌸

Over the years of developing the podcast (9 of them now!), the podcast art (and the show) has always been a reflection of different moments, evolutions, shifts and growth in my life. And this one is no different. 🐛🦋

I have always been enamored with the colors of the desert landscape, so I started there and through the help of friends and my favorite designer, Victoria, at we were able to arrive here. ✨

Over the last year, I’ve gone through a lot — from personal challenges to health rollercoasters to synergetic connections to magical moments. I feel like there’s been a lot of growth, and this cover feels very reflective of that.

Thanks to all of you for being here along the podcast journey and evolution. 🎤

Also, a new episode just dropped today featuring Anna Bario of — we talk about why jewelry is integral to the sustainable fashion conversation, why small businesses have power to instigate change & how “investment” in jewelry can reflect economic trends. And, we chat about my incredible ring redesign that they recently completed. 💍

YOUR favorite outfits of 2024. 👡👖👗👛

Love sharing my fits with y’all — many may call it *vain* but putting together an outfit has always been my favorite creative outlet — it’s a way to do art for me, to say something to the world, to allow myself to play, explore and fully work toward embracing all of ME.

Thanks for entertaining me in this little part of my journey. Grateful to you all for tuning into the podcast, checking out my fits and going along for the ride on my many entrepreneurial endeavors. A lot on the horizon from as well as some exciting fresh episodes for Conscious Chatter coming in 2025! ✨

Hope you’re enjoying some slow moments and soaking up some restorative and restful time — whatever that means to you. 🍵🌿

P.S. what’s your fave fit of 2024!? Can you spot the repeat offenders!?👇

Are you a mother / parent working in the so-called sustainability space? Are you feeling burnt out? 🫠

Do you feel like people are waiting to call you out for doing something wrong? You’re not alone. 🌱

In this week’s episode, we continue building on the power of VULNERABILITY. I chat with the incredible — a mother and entrepreneur working at the intersection of business, sustainability, and community-centered solutions. As a mother of two, Camille is deeply committed to building a more equitable and sustainable future that prioritizes community care.

This is a conversation we need to center more across the sustainability space. Is this conversation directly linked to making money for companies? Not necessarily, but it is imminent if we want to shift narratives, dynamics and behaviors.

If we believe in centering care, for people and the planet, this must be welcomed into the discussion. 🫶
