JUICE
This week, our featured corn cob is Justes, a.k.a. Juice. Justes is from California, but was raised in Michigan, and is a Creative Ad major, minoring in Vis Comm. Juice’s favorite episode of KPU is a toss up between “Good Luck” and “Spirit Week”, as both are hilarious, and serve as a reminder of everything that can be accomplished through collaboration. But, when Max Pinkerton plays about five different character’s in “La Liberté” – that is Juice’s favorite joke. Juice is involved in a few other clubs besides KPU, including the student-run communications agency, Inigo, Ad Club, and will sleep from time to time, but only on a rare occasion. Juice decided to join Kettle Camp for the opportunity to collaborate on ideas and projects with people that are challenging, and encourage everyone to do their best work. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be a corn cob? When asked about future plans, Juice said “I actually prefer to live in the moment, so no,” immediately followed by, “that’s a lie, I have lots of future plans. For example, I plan on pioneering a new way of photography, and I also plan on writing a book.” Before you go back to studying for finals, Juice would just like to share a few words of wisdom - “Meet people that are just as passionate about something as you are and share that passion. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about the same thing. Just listen to what people love. All of this, has inspired me to share my passion and connect with people in a way I haven’t before.” WHAT A GUY!
This week’s featured cob is Samira Touirto-Zaharian!
She is from the great city of Boston, and is a member of KPU’s production team and is a film and digital media productions major, and a management minor. Before KPU, she was in 5 musicals and played diverse roles that ranged from a spoon in Beauty and the
Beast to a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz which is how she got into theatre in the first place. She’s a big fan of the “Quite Contrary Episode”, and “Great Escape”, and also.... well she couldn’t actually choose a favorite, so please don’t ask her too. But she also thought
it was pretty cool when the acafellas made a cameo. In the future, Samira hopes to eventually graduate college and upgrade from being a spoon to be something more practical – maybe a spork. When filming episode 4 for this season of KPU, there were a lot of
unfortunate circumstances but despite that, everyone quickly pulled everything together, which is something that not many people can do. The determination to make everything work that day was something she’d never seen before. Samira thinks that KPU is one
of the best things she’s ever been a part of, and getting to work with such dedicated, passionate people makes her heart warm. She just wants to say thank you to everyone in KPU that makes the show possible. You guys are the best.
