Ever wondered why it’s important to record separate tracks for each person in your podcast interviews? Here’s why:

1️⃣ Better Audio Quality: Separate tracks mean you can isolate and fix audio issues for each participant. This helps remove any background noise or over-talking, making your podcast sound clearer.

2️⃣ Easier Editing: If someone’s audio isn’t perfect, having separate tracks makes it easier to clean up and fix problems. It’s a lifesaver when you need to address specific issues in the recording.

3️⃣ Zoom Settings: If you’re using Zoom, make sure to enable the option to “record separate tracks for each participant” in the settings.

4️⃣ Other Platforms: Tools like Riverside, Squadcast, and Zencaster automatically record separate tracks for you.

Recording separate tracks might seem like a small detail, but it makes a big difference. Give it a try and see how it enhances the quality of your audio! 🎧

Transcripts are now available in Apple Podcasts with the latest update to iOS17.4 making podcasts more accessible and immersive than ever before.

With transcripts, users can read the full text of an episode, search the episode for a specific word or phrase, and tap on the text to play the podcast from that point in the episode. As an episode plays, each word is highlighted, making it easy to follow along.

Transcripts will be available about 24 hours after an episode is published.

Hi there, I’m Lyndal Harris, a Podcast Consultant and the creative force behind Podcast VA. 👋

In 2012, I made the exciting leap from corporate to starting my first Virtual Assistant business. I loved it because I could work with my superpowers and skills to support other small businesses! And what a journey it has been along the way.

Fast forward to 2015, I was fortunate enough to help a client launch Australia’s first-ever podcasting conference. It was a blast and I rubbed shoulders with some amazing people. I also discovered the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into producing a successful podcast. That was when I jumped in and started supporting podcasters. 💥

In 2016, my world was tipped on its head and I had to make some BIG changes. After many conversations with my business bestie, I decided to niche my services and focus solely on podcast support….and voila Podcast VA was born. 🎙⭐

Back then, podcast support agencies/podcast producers/podcast managers/podcast editors or podcast VAs were a rare breed in Australia. It was perfect timing to dive headfirst into the podcasting world. And I have loved it ever since.

Have you noticed a decrease in your podcast stats lately?

I have been asked this question a lot this last month and you're not imagining it.

With the iOS 17 update in October, Apple made 2 changes to how automatic downloads are handled:

👉 Automatic downloads are paused if a listener hasn't played a show they follow for either 15 days or the last 5 shows
👉 Republishing old episodes are no longer considered 'new' and won't automatically download.

Don't let the fear of failure stop you from launching your podcast.

A lot of podcasters don't like going back and listening to their first episodes....because they are usually cringeworthy.

Start, get your show out there and learn and improve along the way.

You might want to jump into Google Podcast manager and download the data before 13 February.

Google makes it official; plus new Acast data and SiriusXM's corporate podcasting name
