It’s Realscreen official—Andie Beckerman has joined Part2 as our Head of Development! We’re so excited to have her. Prior to Part2, Andie served as EVP of Development for House of Nonfiction, and SVP of Original Programming and Develoment for Herzog & Co, where she developed the Emmy-nominated “Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal” and “Chasing Cosby,” an award-winning LA Times podcast. Last night’s special Fort Greene screening of America Outdoors Season 2 was MAGICAL, and we couldn’t be happier with the amazing turnout—both from the / production team AND from the audience that came and filled up the field! Our host joined us in NYC to give both a introduction speech to this episode (pictured) and a rousing speech at our after-party (not pictured). Thank you to and for the amazing event! The episode couldn’t have been better picked for the venue….which is the only hint we’ll give, because you can catch it live on a Wednesday at 8pm ET! 🌳🌳🌳

While Taste the Nation premieres on tomorrow, last night kicked off our premiere week with an official Taste the Nation x TV Academy FYC event for Emmy voters in LA! Part2 sent our president David Shadrack Smith and our Executive Producer Rachel Tung to catch the screening, as well as the Q&A with Padma and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (!) afterwards. We can’t wait to share the series with everyone tomorrow!

Part2 had the honor of interviewing Harry Belafonte a few years back, while he was in his 90s. It was a privilege to hear his thoughts on activism, racism, and doing the work. His words continue to inspire us to this day. Rest in power, Harry Belafonte.

The full interview transcript is available on our website, but below is a particularly inspiring quote: "We have even more to understand and to learn, why have we permitted ourselves to accommodate this indecency? Why have we not been more disruptive than we are? This is now a continuum of history, finding new channels through which to express itself. And I’m glad, in my 90th year of life, I kind of leave it feeling it’s gonna be okay."
