🌕 *Starting Today* in February, during Black History Month, is bringing back the newly-expanded Black Lives Around the Messenger ﷺ course. In this 6-part series, Shaykh Adeyinka Mendes and other guests will teach about the lives of some of Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ Black Companions and discuss other topics (see below).

🗓 Classes will be every *Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday* starting Tuesday, *Feb 8 until Thursday, Feb 17*. This will be a free online course with a suggested donation.

Unfortunately, there is a misconception that Bilal (may God be pleased with him) was the Prophet's ﷺ only Black companion. As the movement against systemic oppression continues globally, we must acknowledge the Black lives devoted to the service of God and His Messenger ﷺ, who paved the way for Muslims to this very day.

In each session, the class will learn about different Black companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, African words in the Quran, Black luminaries in Islamic history, and Hadiths about Black individuals. By telling their stories, and showing how the Prophet ﷺ honored and loved them, this course can also help fill gaps in our Islamic tradition and heal prejudices within our own Muslim communities.
