Founded on the partnership of childhood friends turned co-vocalists and guitarists Rory Morison and Jason Meyers, Drug Hunt find a unique blend of psychedelic, post-punk, garage, and noise. They create a really unusual blend of styles that somehow manages to work together really well.

“Drug Hunt has undergone countless transformation,s,” explains Morrison about the band, “with a revolving door of friends and musicians shaping our sound and vision. We call it an egalitarian anarchy, strung together by many influences, perspectives, agreements, and conflicts. Even through all the shifting and sifting, we’ve been able to maintain a sense of collaboration—a desire to push boundaries and challenge each other’s status quo (laughing), even if it’s incredibly challenging at times.”

Now rounding out the quintet are Nick Sinutko on keys, Adam Baumhardt on bass, and Declan Halloran (El Vez, Dani Bell and the Tarantist) on drums, and Morrison has called this the strongest lineup the band has had.

Today they’re debuting their new single “Shame” off their upcoming album Feast due out July 19 on Bad Vibes Good Friends. This track feels like it has a punk backbone but a psychedelic soul and it makes for one hell of a compelling tune.

Ely Morgan has returned with new music under his noise rock moniker Scuba Cop, a forthcoming record entitled Scuba Pop which is set to arrive on July 5. In preparation for the album’s arrival, he is releasing the hard-rocking lead track “Never Evolve.”

“Never Evolve” is the opening track for a reason. It introduces the vibe, heavy on the noise yet deeply catchy at its core. The song evokes the essence of what listeners can expect from the overall album with Side A leaning into aggressive guitar riffs while Side B mingles with snappy hooks, making for an exhilarating listen. Sonically, the album was influenced by The Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Unwound and Seaweed. The record was mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Pete Lyman who has previously collaborated with Chris Stapleton, Tanya Tucker, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson, John Prine, Weezer, Panic! At the Disco and many others.

Morgan reflected on the inspiration behind the track, commenting, “Never Evolve is about the fear of failure. It is about not accepting challenges or opportunities because you are scared of being criticized and judged. It can be in your personal, professional and creative life. It is about settling for complacency as an alternative to taking risks. It is about losing all ambition regardless of how many chances you get. This song makes a great title track for my new record Scuba Pop. Really sets the tone. ”

The album’s first single, “The Empire,” is streaming now, along with a music video created by Scrunchies vocalist/guitarist Laura Larson (ex-Kitten Forever). "Loveless," the new single by Blind Girls, is out today. From the beaches of Gold Coast, Australia, Blind Girls deliver dark, chaotic, cathartic hardcore that goes for the throat. "Loveless" appears on the quintet's new album, “An Exit Exists,” coming July 5th on Persistent Vision Records. Exploring personal traumas through her lyrics, vocalist Sharni Brouwer's shrill, soulful screams are quite literally hair-raising; she states that the new album "was written during and after two separate instances dealing with abuse from those I loved." The band's upcoming US summer tour features dates with Heavenly Blue, Lagrimas, NØ MAN, Pageninetynine, Saetia, and more!

Corrupt Vision x Se Vende: Skacore & Melodic Punk Come Together on New EP

San Diego's Se Vende was formed in 2010 by guitarists Jonny Cuz and Collin Smith, bringing forth a grungy punk-pop sound that was informed by such influences as Fifteen and Jawbreaker. Rounded out by drummer Ono Senteno, the trio has released a grip of recordings, but their highest profile look so far came in 2018, when Se Vende was approached by Tony Hawk to have their song “Positivity 101” featured on the soundtrack of his video game, Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam.

The flipside of the EP features Orange County's Corrupt Vision, a band that calls what they do musically "anti-ska." The interesting part of that is that their songwriting and playing approach does indeed feature ska-driven components (slinking bass lines, upstroke guitar stabs, etc.), but they also have a different side of their musical style that favors speedy hardcore tempos. It's rad stuff.

Orange County grindy ska-core band Corrupt Vision and San Diego crusty pop punks Se Vende both make music that sounds like it could’ve come out of the late ’80s / early ’90s Lookout! Records/924 Gilman era, so they’re a very cool match for a split EP, and they’ll release one called How Much Trash is Enough? on June 21 via No Time Records. Ahead of the release, we’re premiering one song/video from each band, Se Vende’s “Wasting Life Naturally” and Corrupt Vision’s “Endless Eights.” Both songs are as gritty as they are catchy, and they pair very well together.

Check out both band's videos now streaming over at BrooklynVegan.

The first single, "Dissonance,” is streaming now via BrooklynVegan. From the beaches of Gold Coast, Australia, Blind Girls deliver dark, chaotic, cathartic hardcore that goes for the throat. Rarely crossing the 2-minute mark, their songs rip forth with hurricane-strong momentum. Reference points include screamo legends Pageninetynine, mathcore kings Botch, and newer bands such as Heavenly Blue with whom Blind Girls will be touring the US this summer. The US tour also features dates with the likes of Frail Body, Lagrimas, Quiet Fear, Raein, and Saetia.

They've also got upcoming tour dates with Militarie Gun, Saetia, Heavenly Blue, We Were Skeletons, and more.

“Prism,” the new single from Bangladeafy, is streaming now via FLOOD Magazine! The track appears on the NYC duo’s upcoming new album “Vulture." Flood reports: “Bangladeafy continue to cross the beams of organic and electronic sound on new track ‘Prism.’ The brutal-prog duo’s synth-focused fourth album ‘Vulture’ lands June 21 via Nefarious Industries. Album Premiere: Murf is Already Dead on Already Dead

Minneapolis’ noise rock punk metal miscreants Murf know their hometown all too well and express all that urban dread on their forthcoming third album, Already Dead. Described as “Murf at their darkest, most cynical and apocalyptic,” Already Dead is set for release via Learning Curve Records on June 7th and acts as a chronicle of dudes struggling to make sense of a world that makes no sense, a world in which common sense is uncommon and everyone is trying to put an amoral knee on the neck of everyone else for no discernible gain other than to say ‘f**k yours, I got mine.’

Minneapolis’ Murf provide an all out assault on the senses, their brand of hardcore tinged noise rock is splattered with gore and unsettling fury. Celebrating ten years together as a band, the quintet are set to release Already Dead, their third full length, on May 28th via Learning Curve Records (Great Falls, Bummer, Tongue Party), a howling and vicious record prone to dense thuds and swarming atonality. The band’s horror film inspirations combine together with a hefty dose of cynicism to create an impenetrable sound of chaos, terror, and dizzying abandon. The low end is plodding, the vocals are unhinged and delivered with throat shredding bile, but it’s safe to say that Murf are having fun with catharsis.

“Pastures,” the latest single from Bangladeafy, is streaming now! Fecking Bahamas describes the track as “an angry screed of poetry with sparse, dislocated drums and some pretty radical synth stabs." "Pastures" appears on the NYC duo's new album "Vulture," out June 21st on Nefarious Industries. Chaotic rhythms, euphoric hooks, and plenty of existential horror combine into songs that teeter between panic and ecstasy.

New York City’s Bangladeafy is one of those bands where, because of their name, you might end up calling yourself a fan before you even know what they sound like. But as any listener will tell you, they’ve backed up their wacky name with similarly skewed prog, noise, punk, and more since day one...
