Not a fan of these posts, but it's important info. USPS is increasing postage rates again, and again... July 1st, and July 14th, for different ship types.

We don't generally use Priority, as we try our best to keep costs as low as possible, but the Ground Advantage increases are going to make things SUPER hard to do that moving forward. We can fully pivot to Media Mail (for US shipments), but that's going to push the delivery time frames into the 10+ day range.
For anyone that sees this, definitely give us some feedback on if you'd be okay with potentially waiting a lot longer for an order to arrive... and yes, please share this. The more feedback we get, the better.
As you all know, we have zero control of this.

Starting to see a LOT of posts/comments from "fans" regarding numerous underground extreme metal labels calling it a day and closing their doors... lots of people coming with that same "Noooo whyyyyyyyyyy???" Bu****it response. We've been telling y'all for the last 2 decades now, whether on this page or the old RP Management page... your lack of support is why, and anyone that tells you streams actually do support is lying to your fu***ng face (unless your favorite bands/artists are already multi million/billion dollar brands: Metallica, Maiden, Taylor Swift, etc)

All your streaming is NOT going to save any given small label with minimal resources. The same way y'all killed some of your "favorite" bands with your theft (piracy), is the same way you're now killing both your so called "favorite bands and labels" through streaming.

Sales, pure physical sales, are the only thing that will keep any label (including this one) afloat. Same goes for bands trying to grow and expand their base. Streaming may reach more ears for free, but that generates zero revenue for 98% of bands, and it is in no way a replacement for sales.

Having said that, here's another direct reason why everyone should support and put money toward physical media... they can take away and heavily manipulate digital content all they want.

It's interesting to see some of these posts from other Labels offering 'Label Services' instead of contracts... Bands get to keep their rights to their masters, 100% of merch, etc... 'for a fee which is required in order to covers costs and services'...

If RPM were charging $6,000 - $7,000 per band... we'd have the resources to offer the same thing.

It's a shady way to do things and there's no guarantee that the band will see any growth. I'd rather have limited resources and do as much as possible within those means to help bands with growth and development.

So this September is when returns! And along with that, the 5yr anniversary of this label endeavor, as well as a dual 5yr/15yr Anniversary of Whisteria Cottage Official - Heathen [Remastered] and the OG myspace era original release of 'Heathen' (based on the year of release, not the month).
While we have no new music to speak of on deck from the WC camp, we would still like to do something to celebrate the occasion. Heavily considering a wall flag but maybe all the WC diehards have ideas??
We're open to suggestions for sure, but keep in mind we don't have much in the way of re$ource$ to throw at this. RPM is still 100% a 1 man project label.
Feel free to hit that inbox if you have any ideas. Again, we have zero control over the possibility of new music... we can try and make some sort of cool merch to celebrate the anniversaries though! Let us know! 🤘🏻😈❤

There aren't any Bandcamp Fridays throughout this Summer. They return at the end of Summer, for the first Friday in September. However, we still have the majority of our titles on sale, No Code Needed, and we definitely appreciate all your support as we move through 2024. We haven't had much to announce in the way of new artists or titles, despite having talked to numerous bands about partnerships. We realize most bands want to sign to super duper labels with hundreds of thousands of cash flow... and unfortunately, we're a far cry from that. 🙃

With the ridiculous spike in international shipping costs, our main goal is in trying to make it more affordable for the CD collectors out there to pick up copies of albums without paying more for shipping than for the actual product. We've reached out to a few bands about partnering to make their CD available in the US through us, so as to bring shipping costs down to domestic pricing, but so far no dice. 🤷‍♂️ (We realize it's the exact same for RPM supporters outside the US, and we would love to work with other labels to make any of our titles available there... doesn't seem to be the way s**t works though)

We will have new music coming late this year or early 2025 from Deinòs and Nordic Frost. That's about all that's slated for now. Thank you for all the support over the last 5 years, and we hope to continue bringing you more of the best that the underground has to offer for many more years to come! 🤘🏻😈❤

It's still legit crazy to see extreme metal bands, especially unsigned bands... still making DSP's their 'go-to' for linking first, begging for pre-saves, and clinging to this idea that they 'have to' push that and be on those platforms to achieve relevance. It's sad really.
On the other hand, seeing more established, signed and touring artists starting to call out DSP's and moving away from them is a step in the right direction. Here's to hoping more metal bands take notice and stop buying into the bulls**t.
Quit avoiding bandcamp and definitely don't avoid posting BC links in your 'linktree' or whatever equivalent you use. It's ridiculous to see a post about a band and the only link is to some DSP, so I go looking for bandcamp instead to check out the band, and either it doesn't exist (fail)... or it does, and there's zero posts or links to it from their own band page(s) on any socials or sites.
Pointing people to places where they can actually support your band (without requiring tens of thousands of streams to do so) should always be the focus. Then again, what do I know? 🤷‍♂️

Definitely not stoked to announce this, but don't have a choice. USPS shipping costs increases have finally impacted us, so our prices will be rising accordingly. Sent out an international package today and paid an extra $2.50 ($21.50 total) to ship a single CD... This sucks for everyone, but we don't control these price points.
The clerk informed me that the price will be rising again in July 2024. This is going to absolutely kill International sales for any of our releases, but I don't blame anyone for not wanting to pay so much in shipping (not to mention extra duties/taxes that many EU countries add on).

Just wanted to bring it up now so that no one is shocked... even though only like 2 people might see this. If you'd like to help others see this, sharing of course helps, but engagement does too... lots of comments pushes visibility. Help us reach more people regarding these unfortunate changes!

**The image is from January, and represents domestic package pricing in the bottom 3 lines. It only shows International pricing (in the upper portion) for letters, which doesn't apply to what we send (packages/parcels), but you can see even letters have seen a significant bump in price, so packages are even worse, and will get even uglier this summer.
**Why are we just posting now from a January price hike? Because we hadn't seen any significant impact until we sent out packages today.**
