Aegina Island, Ελλάδα 🇬🇷 - part two

One thing about me is that I will never miss an opportunity to take a photo and pet every kitty I see 😊

I never heard of Aegina Island before, compared to the other more hyped up islands around Greece (Luca can take the win there) but it was the perfect getaway from the craziness of Athens, and the perfect place for me to attempt at getting a tan - still waiting on the results…

Athens to Aegina Island - spent a couple days trying not to burn, splashing around in some water and sweating way more than I’d ever like to again 🙃

& we can scratch Turkey off the bucket list ✔️

We decided to rent a car and spent the last few days driving around and exploring the beachy side of the country - we spent time in Izmir & Karaburun!

Then we also drove to The Ancient City! 🏛️

For all my fellow history nerds, this place was insane. It was literally jaw dropping and hard to comprehend the architecture and the ruins left behind. Although each ticket was 40€ just to get inside which also included the museum experience (this was also one of our favourites but air conditioning helped too).

You do have to pay extra to see some other separate areas if you want, but we opted out and as the place is huge in general with so much to see already we didn’t feel like we missed out.

Although we had a great time, we are happy to move on to say the least 😅

Andiamo in Grecia!! 🇬🇷

Turkey so far 🇹🇷

We have been in the last 2 days!

I ain’t gonna lie and say it’s been bliss, this place is damn hot, today was +36 - don’t get me started on the crowds and humidity to add on top of that 🥵

Tomorrow we are off to !

The 3 Love Theory ✨

There is this theory that throughout our lifetime we may fall in love at 3 different times, during 3 unique stages of our lives that end up shaping us into the people we are today.

1. First Love (Intimate)

2. The Hard Love (Passionate)

3. The Final Love (Commitment)

By no means am I any type of love guru, check my past for that answer, but this concept has always been really interesting whether you believe in the theory or not.

What do you think about this theory, can you relate? ☼

Why you should leave your hometown & never look back ✨

We love them and we hate them but there is something so blissfully content about our hometowns and also maybe a bit... I dunno... soul-sucking at times?

& if you're anything like me, you couldn't wait to get out.

I left on my first backpacking trip in 2014 when I was only 18, and it was the best decision I could have ever made.

When I left my hometown it was freeing to get away. Nobody knew who I was, nobody knew my history, I mean why would they I was on the other side of the freaking world.

But it was relieving not having to live up to any standards, and the space to figure out who I was without being constantly asked what my next plan was.

You can look at travelling in a way of self-love, by following where you want to go without any limitations.

Sometimes these acts of self-love can be viewed as selfish, but I viewed them as healing. Read that again.

It's official!

I have launched my website
"Kennidy From Canada Lifestyle & Travel Blog"
(check out the link in my bio to find it!)

It has always been a dream of mine to have a blog but being the overthinker that I am, I have convinced myself out of it over and over again and finally, it's here.

It's a small step, but a step I am super excited about. With always being prone to weird and unlucky circumstances it was a
no-brainer at this point that I have to start writing some of this s**t down.

Through the humour, there will also be realness. I want to be authentic and raw in the words that I write in hopes they will reach and resonate with some of you.

If there is anything you want me to write about please feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM, I am an open book!

Happy reading little fishies! 🐠

Growing up I always loved to write, and along with my weird knack for history, school was always hard for me.

Let's just say, Momma didn't bless me with her math skills!

I always felt something was off, and that it seemed harder for me to learn simple things than my classmates.

Little did I know, I was battling Narcolepsy and ADHD along the way. I was officially diagnosed with Narcolepsy at 16 years old, and finally with ADHD at 26.

I am still trying to understand how to live with these conditions but it gives me clarity knowing there was a reason I was sleeping through classes and why my husband looks at me like I am crazy when I try to do 5 tasks at once.

Knowing how easily I lose interest in things, makes it more special that my love for writing has always stuck with me, but I never really pursued it.

Always overthinking and convincing myself that it wasn't something I could go after.

But what's better to write about than your own experiences and all the misadventures that I have been through, because JESUS there has been a lot!

Maybe I should write a book at this point! 📕

So that's the plan, I've said it before, but I am confident now, I am going to start writing and putting myself out there, trying to fit my life into words,

So sit back, relax, and revel in the chaos that is my life 🤣

I feel like I can finally breathe 😅 all the stress and anxiety that was built up for this day, was worth it in the end. I am so eternally grateful for everyone who travelled the distance to be there to celebrate with us again, 3 years later. Surrounded by our cherished friends and loved ones, we couldn’t of asked for a better day. Aside from the panic attacks, it was perfect.

My Story

I realized my passion for travel and photography around the same time, where ideally enough they went hand in hand. I took my first trip at 17 to Germany which opened my eyes to the wonderful world that I was craving to explore.

I went travelling for a year abroad right after school, testing out my photography abilities and my backpacking skills. From there I came home and spent a year in a city called Kelowna where I ended up getting a photography diploma.

Unfortunately my big travel plans stopped there and crazy enough I ended up working in the Alberta pipeline industry for nearly 2 years. I realized I had came to a point in my life where I was really going over everything and came to the conclusion that obviously this isn’t what I want to be doing for the rest of my life.

From there, I quit my job, sold my vehicle and planned a volunteer abroad trip to Thailand set out to do what I have always wanted. I planned a whole trip to visit many countries which would eventually land me in New Zealand. Well. This wasn’t the case.
