A little BTS shot for you! I loved styling the shopping shoot in the latest issue of - I was given the task to style some beautiful images using solely the things that we sell in our new online shop!

Not quite sure how I didn’t post about this last month, but this house that we featured in is one of my favourite houses that I’ve ever stepped into!

The home is owned by Chloe Brookman who is the powerhouse behind the brand . Chloe and her husband Charlie turned a funny old duplex into this incredible family home for their family of 7! Every piece was sourced from Facebook marketplace and various antique stores from around the globe. The floor pattern that you see in the first image was designed and laid by Charlie using a stencil and various wood stains! The whole ground floor was created like this! Mind blowing. So creative.

Chloe wanted to create a ‘real life doll’s house’ and the outcome is just that!

Feel so proud to have worked on this feature with the inimitable - artist, florist and doctor of philosophy, for the current issue of magazine.

Lisa’s incredible unwavering vision is the reason her work is loved by people around the globe and can be found in The Mint in Sydney and fashion houses of Paris and everywhere in between. The floral arrangements set against the backdrop of wall + furniture paint is the perfect pairing!

Ok, we NEED to talk about this! I didn’t wake up today planning to post this but I scrolled this afternoon, watched a few things and realised that no one (that I’m aware of) in our industry is really tackling the impending AI implosion that is lurking around the corner. It’s real, people!!

We are a few company decisions away from an ENTIRE industry being done away with. Every image in this post was created using my brain, my hands and my heart, and the same passion of about 20 other people. Photographers, set builders, assistants, locations, agents, models and the list goes on (swipe for a list of the kinds of creatives involved). Jobs that we have trained for decades to do.

When it comes to commercial and editorial work it is imperative that we keep creativity in the hands of humans or we are DONE.

I am asking high street stores, department stores, magazines, newspapers, shops, businesses and designers to share this image and pledge not to use AI software to create catalogues, lookbooks, photo shoots, magazine features and creative imagery for their businesses that would replace human creatives.

Luckily, this hasn’t happened to me with any of my clients yet- they all believe in the power of human creativity.

I don’t know if people will agree with this or not and I am happy to open up a discussion here but I passionately feel that we need to protect our incredible interiors/food and fashion industries by spreading the word, speaking to business owners, talking to clients and being an advocate for ourselves and our amazing creative network.

Here is an image I styled for for my latest Baskets shoot for ! My friend and assistant was the perfect model for this shot! We shot it in Sydney’s Hyde Park on an autumn day. I’m in love with the basket backpack from and the basket on Nonci’s arm is from . The dress is and hat from 🧺🌻

Morning lovely people! Here is another image from my latest shoot ‘new weave’ for magazine - a calm, light-filled bedroom!
A little bit about how I put together these looks: I research a theme, look at a wide range of shops, designers and brands to see what is out there in the market and then I approach the people/brands that I want to include and ask to loan their beautiful things for a couple of days.

We organise to have them sent to the location or studio (or we pick them up).

Then we design and build a set (or choose a real life location) to shoot in. After the shoot my assistants and I pack everything up send them back to their owners.

So as you can see a lot of work is involved in creating a beautiful shoot that you can shop from. (Both in a creative way and a physical way!) and I couldn’t think of another job I could ever love as much. I feel very lucky.

Lastly, you might be wondering why there is so much empty space above the bed - I wanted to let the wallpaper breathe and I also needed to leave room for the captions on the page of the magazine!

Here is a snapshot taken behind the scenes on my shoot last month for .

Most stylists have had their ‘behind’ shot atleast 56,000 times in this job as we are always setting up and finessing things in front of the camera while the photographer sets up the camera angle and lighting etc. Luckily, 55,999 photos have been deleted from last shoots and usually it’s by the end of the shoot day. But this one isn’t too bad so I’ll pop it up on the grid 😂

How divine is this wallpaper that I sourced from ? It’s called Florence Court by Cole and Son. 🍃 and the upholstered bench and chair from is both beautiful AND comfortable. The table is from , the coat rack and framed art are both from , the green table cloth from and the fruit bowl from .

I can’t believe that after all this time I can now finally tell you that I have written and styled my very own interiors book!!

It is an absolute life bucket list moment to be able to say that I am now an author to a beautiful, beautiful book that will hopefully be enjoyed by interiors-lovers everywhere for years to come.

My new book ‘The Home Style Handbook’ is a book that not only has hundreds of pages of stunning interiors imagery but you can also learn while you read.

I outline how to style your shelves, rooms, spaces, mood boards, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, dining room, home office, hallway, entrance spaces, how to connect your rooms, how to create a thread or theme through your hone and I visualise my teachings by using inspiring photography from some amazing homes that I cannot wait to introduce you as you read.

When I saw this incredible Mandarin Duck on instagram a few weeks ago I knew it would be a great starting point for an interiors scheme.
