Just a little short but sweet standing sequence to pair some familiar moves together. Concentrating on the slight adjustments and how the flow can feel between postures. All these lunge variations help practice balance, strength within those supporting muscles, and of course flexibility in the lunge. The first time I tried this posture my knees did not lift off the ground. That was a few days ago. I said lol I’ll come back to this in another lifetime. Well another lifetime was today!!! Gave it a shot and got some air time. And yeessss it hurt the top of my feet lol and I stopped after this cause I was good 😎 Just keep showing up and being cool with what’s happening and where you’re at. This sequence is a combination of very common asanas that require a bit of back and forth. The goal when I work through a sequence like this would be stability and and strength through transition. It may look easy but stay balanced and energetically keep the body engaged. Might be harder than you think! Warming up my wheel before class this morning!! Final last two weeks to work into this wheel sequence I have been teaching to get everyone familiar and primed for wheel. Often a goal pose for a lot of students, it can be intimidating if you’re unsure of the mechanics or even just feel self conscious. I am here to tell you trying is awesome and if you fall who cares, the greatest fall before they achieve. Thank you lesliewithwords - she wanted to know about down dog for TIGHT hamstrings and I’m here to tell you that there is options! Firstly the goal is the spine. Heels don’t need to touch 🤯🤯🤯 But if you press the mat away with your palms, send the tailbone back high while finding a slight posterior tilt (engage lower belly), and externally rotate your arms you will find your legs can have more space to lower the heels easily. From there, bend the knees to maintain integrity of the spine to the degree that feels good for you. Maybe a tiny bend or a big bend. I’d rather see you with knees bent and great upper body positioning than heels down, big round hunchback of notre dame. Then I threw in some hamstring stretches and mobility movements to help the muscle. At the end of the day you could have the most flexible hamstrings, calves, and ankles in the world but if your anatomy does not support getting the heels down, it don’t. I hope this helps, just think you’re doing a handstand but with feet on the ground :))) #yoga #yogatutorial #yogaclass #yogini #yogapractice #downdog #yogateacher #yogainspiration #yogapose

Most days aren’t our strongest or bendiest. Today my workout was rough. I had to reduce the reps in some sets and it all took me longer than I planned. These days aren’t bad. They are just part of the overall experience. Just roll with em. Modify them or take your time and move on.
