I’ve been experimenting with generative AI for some time now. As Samhain/Halloween is approaching I wanted to create a short piece exploring a story I’ve been obsessed with for 2 decades: Alice Kyteler-The First Witch.
This sample took just over an hour to make. I started with UDIO to create a soundtrack for the idea I had. Then I used MidJourney to generate the still images for the scenes and used zoom and character reference for consistency. The stills were then used a reference images in Runway Gen3 Turbo with additional prompting to animate them.

The legend that is…Jack Lukeman (aka Jack L)
Less than a week to NAB the biggest Broadcast Technology Show in the world. Running in parallel, at the same venue is BEA (the Broadcast Educators Association of America).
I’ll be there with LumaTouch, Tilta and MiMojo to showcase all the latest gear, features and roadmaps for mobile production. I’m hosting presentations on Mobile Multicamera Production and Mobile Journalism and provenance in the age of AI, Co-hosting with @cscottvideo a session on LumaFusion Multi-cam and the new features in the latest release. I’ll also have access to the full Tilta Khronos system (including the new accessories they are launching) and will shoot some BTS videos on the system. And of course Mick and I will have a MiMojo stand and host several talks about mobile production and our ecosystem.

I got my hands on a PROTOTYPE* of the new KHRONOS smartphone system from @tilta_eu
*contents / design may vary in final production version.
As with everything I’ve used from Tilta the build quality is superb. I love that the core cage is both your everyday cover with the Magback credit card case (included) and then quickly converts into the full production system with a few clicks. Their locking system is really solid, takes a couple of attempts to master at first attempt but RTFM and you’re flying.
The PowerGrip is the transformative part. A built in powerbank with Run/Stop control over BlackMagic Camera App and a function Switch that lets you swap between Focus/Zoom control@using the dial on the front.
The CoolingFan/MagSafe charger draws power from the PowerGrip via integral power points around the cage. You can also power it directly via USB-C. It has two fan speeds and two charge settings 5W/10W
The NATO Rail grip are really comfortable to use with the Nucleus Nano II and while I personally prefer focus pulling with the Nano II you don’t need it as the Power Grip has the same functionality. Note I really do hope that BlackMagic make ISO and Shutter speed control available via Bluetooth, if so it may be possible to use the Nano for Zoom/Focus and the PowerGrip for ISO/Shutter control.
The PowerGrip has a USB-C In/Out port (power only at this stage) and an audio jack for microphone in. I gather a flip down filter system is in development as is a SSD enclosure/holder.
