When Fabergé’s Winter Egg breaks another record, it’s not a coincidence.

A Fabergé Egg with a Secret Past
The egg was purchased by the family of its current owner in Latvia back in 1947 - just after the end of World War II, when Latvia was already annexed by the Soviet Union.
It’s not surprising, considering those hard times when many people had to sell what they once swore they’d never part with.

It’s also known that Carl Fabergé himself escaped to Riga after the Russian Revolution of 1917.
But here’s the real twist: in 1923, Fabergé’s chief accountant, Otto Bauer, also fled to Riga - secretly carrying with him several original Fabergé pieces from Russia.

Later, Fabergé’s heirs tried to recover them, but not all were ever found.
Some of these “Hidden Fabergé Treasures” were rumored to be hidden somewhere in Latvia.
People searched for them for decades - even into the 1990s.

Now, after the recent passing of the family patriarch, his heirs decided to sell the egg - and they reached out to us.
They loved our idea: that a masterpiece of human culture can belong to many people, not just a few wealthy collectors.

As soon as the current owner officially inherits the egg, we’ll publish all authenticity documents on our marketplace website - so everyone can see this incredible piece of history with their own eyes.
