His work has been supported by Die Schweizerische Post, the Canada Council for the Arts, and presented in Assisi, Beijing, Boston, Brooklyn, Cairo, Calgary, Cologne, Montréal, New Delhi, São Paulo, Toronto, Turin, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Zürich. A former student of the National Ballet School of Canada, Sky spent a decade as a professional dancer, performing in a dozen world premieres of contempor
ary work by artists including Susan Cash (CA), Brendan Fernandes (US), David Frankovich (FI), Derek Liddington (CA), Tracey Norman (CA), Kaitlyn Regehr (UK), and Lucy Rupert (CA). He is an alum of the Jeux de Canada Games National Artist Program, Metcalf Foundation Performing Arts Program, Canadian Stage RBC Emerging Artist Program, and is a 3-time recipient of the Koerner Foundation's Award in Performing Arts. In 2013, he was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Choreography and later served as a Juror in the Dance Division during the 2015/16 awards season. Sky completed his formal education at York University and the University of California, Berkeley, served on the board of directors for Canada's Dance Magazine, The Dance Current, and has worked in higher education administration and non-profit arts and culture management for the Canadian National Exhibition, Canadian Opera Company, Dancer Transition Resource Centre, Harbourfront Centre, The Harriet Tubman Institute, and York University. He currently serves as the Communications Coordinator in the Office of the Vice-President & Provost at the University of Toronto.
