I thought I’d do an updated meet the bookstagrammer now that my whole being hacked situation has calmed down.
For context, my previous booksta account was hacked at 2700ish followers and I had to create a new account. About 5 months later I was able to get access of the hacked account back but I had already rebuilt a following here and Instagram doesn’t allow merging accounts.
I ended up saving the data from the old account, deleting it and renaming this account from “therealredsrecs” to “redsrecs” which was my previous account name ♥️

I’ve been knee deep in a slump and this book has been suggested to me on multiple occasions so it’s my next read for sure!
This book also gave me an excuse take some more pictures of my new set of nails. My obsession is real 😍

I’m having a chill weekend, catching up on chores and going to church. With any luck something gets me out of my reading slump soon so I can take advantage of this time ✨

I used my day off to finish The Serpent and the Wings of Night and get through just about half of the audiobook of A Soul of Ash and Blood while doing chores ✨
As ever Jennifer L. Armentrout has me hooked 👌🏻

“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 ‘𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭.’ ”
A complete shift from Ali’s other books and yet it’s so uniquely her.
Other than a quirky and funny FMC and as ever the perfect MMC, we were also able to get a view into how Ali sees things like Vampires and Werewolves from a biological perspective.
I personally loved it. I already have a general interest in biology and being able to peer into some fantasy in a way that is not magical scratched and itch in my brain I didn’t know existed.
The slow burn romance was also top tier and I genuinely lived everything about this book.
Be warned, if you’ve never read a werewolf romance before, you will be introduced to knotting and it really is hot AF 🥵
I highly suggest that EVERYONE read this book. Just saying.

I have this weird habit of getting books because I see they’re popular, don’t read even the synopsis before diving in blind and then being stunned by what I read 🤣
This book was a little cliché, a little dark, pretty spicy and not at all what I thought a Peter Pan retelling would be. Mostly because it’s not a retelling 👀
This is definitely one for the dark romance girlies but it is light enough that if you’re a romantasy or contemporary romance girly you’ll probably still really enjoy this book!

This was one of my top reads of 2023 and I am ITCHING for a reread *skimp skimp* 👀
Since my review was posted on my previous hacked account, here’s a repost:
WOW. This book absolutely BLEW me away.
I was enthralled from the moment we meet Bjorn up until the very last page that left me wanting for more.
The pacing was absolute perfection from start to finish and I never felt as if the story dipped or became boring. The pacing was also really good, it never felt like the story was happening too fast or too slow.
The writing and use of language overall was really good and was done in a way that really suited the characters and world. I felt like at every turn I was reading the dialogue in the same accent as in the series “Vikings”.
The world building was done to perfection, my understanding of the land, where places were from each other, the gods and how the magic worked all given through in a way that was easy to understand and wasn’t an info dump.
The characters on their own were each also very interesting and lovable and it was easy to want to know what will happen with them.
Lastly, the romance was amazing. The slow burn, the tension of wanting each other from day one but having to deny themselves, keeping their feelings from each other. These are the things I live for.
There wasn’t a lot of spice but what was there was well written and didn’t feel cringe. I did wish there was more sexual tension between the characters but overall it did not impact the story.
Run, do not walk, to get yourself a copy of this book!

I had my nail appointment yesterday, saw my besties, had family time and was able to get this book I’ve been wanting with a voucher that got me and it has helped perk me up so much ♥️

I usually love reading poolside but that’s not really something I can do day to day so I end up on the couch or in bed.
I’m on book 4 of The Bonds that Tie series and the obsession is going strong!
I’ve been having a tough insomnia, anxiety and overall work week all while bingeing The Bonds that Tie so I’ve not had the mental capacity to keep up with bookstagram for a few days.
