The Speed Project () isn’t so much a running race as it is a movement. 340 miles in 48hrs of chaos to run from LA to Vegas with a small team by any path necessary. No rules. No spectators. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What emerges from the experience is epically raw, human, imperfection. Sun, wind, rain, sweat, doubt, fear, accomplishment and new friends.⁣
⁣
The amazing toured our team around earlier this year, so it felt only fitting for us to return the favor when we heard they were headed stateside. ⁣

We’re excited to share new work for , the first in a summer long series about makers and doers that have created meaningful change in their respective trades and communities. ⁣
⁣
Saray Hernandez .saray is a first generation welder and works aboard some of the U.S. Navy’s largest ships. Each day Saray puts on her headphones, cranks the tunes, and makes sparks fly. As a contract welder, each day brings with it a new challenge of keeping these vessels seaworthy. She describes her crew as a bunch of little ants hard at work building stuff. But as one of the few women in her field, Saray is one ant that stands out.⁣
⁣
In addition to building a career as an experienced, well-respected traveling welder, Saray’s made it her mission to encourage and inspire other women and girls to go into trade jobs traditionally lacking female representation. Follow Saray on TikTok () to see more. ⁣

It’s and we wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to some awesome organizations doing work with local outdoor groups here in our backyard. To , , — Thank You for the work you do. ⁣
⁣
It’s been incredible to see the local creative and outdoor communities grow and unite to make positive change, literally save lives, and enable more equitable access to the trails, crags, and slopes above town over the past decade. and if we can have a little to celebrate and give back why not?!⁣
⁣
But the work is not done, conservation and access require work daily and that demands woman/man-power to make happen. Please consider giving one of these organizations a little extra love this season.⁣ If you drive the canyons, clip bolts in LCC (Or BCC, AF, Maple), or ski anywhere in the Wasatch you have been effected by the work of these great humans.
