Some of our best tips to get more gigs and releases in 2024 and be successful in the music industry.
Gigs:
- Respect the promoter! Never only show up 5 minutes before your set time and disappear straight away after your set.
Always invite your friends and crowd and support the event with your presence.
- Always confirm dates, venues and artwork before you announce it on your social media. Major mistake! Clubs and promoters don't like this.
- Know your role!
Warm up, peak time and closing is essential for a proper night and all of them are equally important - all of them require a different approach as a DJ.
Can't everyone always play in the main hours!

- Record labels are not always looking for new music to sign.It is like in the dating gaming. Good timing is essential and sometimes needs some luck too. If our schedule is full we are not looking for new music. If someone is in a relationship they are not looking for someone to date. (Or we hope so).
Is that simple.
- Label owners have their own personal life too. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to listen to demos or go through emails. Give them time or send a kind reminder after 2 weeks. - Don't ask for updates on your release every week.
Ultimate advice:
- Real, face to face connections are the most important in this industry. Get to know people in real life. Go out to events, meet the right person and build your network.
Be more than just a message in someone's inbox.
