Mark Aylward is an independent filmmaker based out of Montreal, Canada. In 2023, he created Dead Ringer Movies, a production company with the mission of harnessing Canadian talent and creativity to produce world-class Canadian motion picture entertainment. His first feature film “Spørre” was released in 2021 (and I was fortunate enough to have a cameo in it with my band Chair Warriors). In this episode, Mark joins me to discuss the many challenges and obstacles he's has to overcome as an indie filmmaker as well as some of his thoughts on the movie industry at large and the impact of artificial intelligence on art and filmmaking.
