We hope you had a happy Ghana Independence Day last week! 🇬🇭 But guess what? At Kasa Kasa TV, we're extending the celebration all month long! 🎊

We're diving into the legends of Ghana, starting our "Legends" series with none other than the trailblazing force behind Ghana's independence, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah...

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah championed the importance of local languages in fostering national identity and unity. He believed that embracing and preserving indigenous languages was crucial for empowering communities and strengthening cultural bonds. Nkrumah advocated for the inclusion of local languages in education and governance, recognising their role in effective communication and societal development.

Let's honour his legacy by celebrating the rich linguistic diversity of Ghana and amplifying the voices of all its people! 🗣️📚

Our new language addition is 👇🏿

A little about Ewe…

Ewe, or Êʋê in its authentic form, is a language spoken across multiple countries—primarily in Ghana, Togo, and the Benin Republic. However, the largest population of Êʋê people is concentrated in Ghana.

Did you know that despite Ghana’s renowned Kente cloth being commonly associated with the Asante people, some believe the tradition of "kente" weaving goes back even further with the Êʋê people, dating back to the 16th century.

Let's highlight some notable figures from the Êʋê tribe…
- Philip Gbeho, composer of the Ghana national anthem 🇬🇭 🎼
- , the beautiful and talented Ghanaian musician 🎤💁🏾‍♀️
- Gilbert “Bobbo” Ahiagble, celebrated as the most successful master weaver and kente entrepreneur of his generation 🧵🐐

We're all one people yet we're beautifully diverse and that's a cause for celebration!

Please help us welcome our newest addition to our team!👇🏿

👋🏿 I’m Priscilla, a proudly born and bred Ghanaian 🇬🇭 hailing from the central region.

I love to play with words, sit back, relax and enjoy the impact. I can read, write and speak Twi, Fantse and Ga and thrilled to join the Kasa Kasa TV team as we position Ghana at the front of the globe.

I'm optimistic about our motherland, hence, our tradition must go on. We can only bring all on-board by remembering and learning from our past.

Now, let’s go on a tour to our roots, having us, at Kasa Kasa TV as your tour guide. Get ready!

As we approached the end of 2021, this was weighing heavily on my mind. It seemed more and more likely to be true the more I tho...
