“Who says it’s never as good as the first time? Eddie S. Pierce’s sophomore effort, Love: From Behind, is sort of a semi-sequel: while his impressive debut, Love: Something Infinite, introduced Black SGL Everyman Seron and explored his blooming relationship with Rodney, this time a member of their extended family, Lee, takes center stage. The action jumps between Lee’s years as a UNLV college student and introduction to gay social life, and his present-day raging sexual appetite—which is fueled by both the heartbreak of falling hard for his frat brother and first love(r), J, and a secret longing for the recently engaged Seron. In connecting the dots between Lee’s past and present, Pierce paints an engrossing portrait of a young man coming to terms with familial trauma, embracing his bisexuality, and no longer allowing fear to shake his faith in himself and others. And the erotic elements—and there are quite a few, including a brief but juicy sexcapade called “Hearts & Spades”—are lit. Love: From Behind is a novella, so it’s more of an appetizer than an entire meal. But it is still oh so tasty, an unexpected though welcome detour in the series. Bring on installment three, Love: After Sex, please!”

"WYATT ! 174: Eddie S. Pierce, Jr.--Taking Indie Publishing to New Heights!"
The WYATT! podcast ( #Wyattonair ) does a deep dive into those timely and critical issues that impact Gay/SGL (Same-Gender-Loving) men with a diverse set of LGBTQ movers, shakers, and change agents. WYATT! is absorbing, informative, provocative--and sprinkled with sly, spicy (and sometimes a wee bit) scandalous humor! The fast-growing podcast airs on both YouTube and Spotify.
A major mandate of WYATT! ( #Wyattonair ) is to present a showcase for LGBTQ+ indie (independent) authors--particularly those of color. And this time out, an indie publisher pulls up to the mic.
This eppy’s special guest is Eddie S. Pierce, Jr., ( @seron1914 ) founder of Rainbow Room Publishing. He provides a unique perspective into the publishing world, and just what it takes for authors to be successful.
Pierce, Jr. and I begin our sit-down by walking through the “Corridors of Time,” to explore his childhood. His answers to the question, “What three qualities best describe you as a little boy, a nipper?” will make you, well…chuckle! (Smile)
We fast forward to his college days: the businessman earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Chicago State University. He describes how that experience shaped him.
Eddie reveals that after discovering he was HIV positive, he became clinically depressed. He explains in heartfelt detail how the depression manifested itself--and how he eventually healed by using writing as his “safe haven.”
Next, the multifaceted talent, who refers to himself as a Black Christian HIV-positive SGL (same-gender-loving) writer, discusses the three works he’s penned: LOVE: Something Infinite, LOVE: From Behind, and LOVE Changes. Afterward, I ask him about the challenges he faces as a Black Christian HIV-positive SGL writer, and how he reconciles the Christian a
