Rainbow Room Publishing, LLC is happy to confirm the return of Veteran Contributing Author Senyah Haynes to From a Black Perspective: The Homeland.

Senyah Haynes has recently crowned herself a “Life Sampler Sensationnelle,” a phrase she has coined to add a fresh coat of gloss and some luxury to the old adage: “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” A woman who has countless interests and multiple passions, she has had the privilege to explore many of them both personally and professionally. More specifically, the arts, youth development, and social justice are three major pillars of her life and occupation. World travel is her calling.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Whoa, Woo Woo! is a story about communication: uncomfortable, unpredictable, and to some, incomprehensible communication.

“Our emphasis [as an African people] was not on religion, but rather on spirituality; and spirituality is higher than religion.”
- John Henrik Clarke, 1915-1998

“Those that don't got it, can't show it. Those that got it, can't hide it.”
- Zora Neale Hurston, 1891-1960

“I realize I was more powerful than I ever knew, but I forced it to go dormant because it scared the hell out of me.”

Eddie S Pierce Jr Discusses Reconciling Spiritually & S*xuality

Get your copies of LOVE: From Behind by visiting:

Thank you to Charles Nelson, the Ubuntu Center of Chicago, and the Brothers of Adodi Chicago for this awesome and affirming opportunity!!!

“Who says it’s never as good as the first time? Eddie S. Pierce’s sophomore effort, Love: From Behind, is sort of a semi-sequel: while his impressive debut, Love: Something Infinite, introduced Black SGL Everyman Seron and explored his blooming relationship with Rodney, this time a member of their extended family, Lee, takes center stage. The action jumps between Lee’s years as a UNLV college student and introduction to gay social life, and his present-day raging sexual appetite—which is fueled by both the heartbreak of falling hard for his frat brother and first love(r), J, and a secret longing for the recently engaged Seron. In connecting the dots between Lee’s past and present, Pierce paints an engrossing portrait of a young man coming to terms with familial trauma, embracing his bisexuality, and no longer allowing fear to shake his faith in himself and others. And the erotic elements—and there are quite a few, including a brief but juicy sexcapade called “Hearts & Spades”—are lit. Love: From Behind is a novella, so it’s more of an appetizer than an entire meal. But it is still oh so tasty, an unexpected though welcome detour in the series. Bring on installment three, Love: After S*x, please!”

- New York Times and Amazon Bestselling Author of the B-Boy Blues series, James Earl Hardy, Creator of the stage play and feature-length film of the same title.

Thank you Wyatt O'Brian Evans for this amazing interview opportunity.

"WYATT ! 174: Eddie S. Pierce, Jr.--Taking Indie Publishing to New Heights!"

The WYATT! podcast ( ) does a deep dive into those timely and critical issues that impact Gay/SGL (Same-Gender-Loving) men with a diverse set of LGBTQ movers, shakers, and change agents. WYATT! is absorbing, informative, provocative--and sprinkled with sly, spicy (and sometimes a wee bit) scandalous humor! The fast-growing podcast airs on both YouTube and Spotify.
A major mandate of WYATT! ( ) is to present a showcase for LGBTQ+ indie (independent) authors--particularly those of color. And this time out, an indie publisher pulls up to the mic.
This eppy’s special guest is Eddie S. Pierce, Jr., ( ) founder of Rainbow Room Publishing. He provides a unique perspective into the publishing world, and just what it takes for authors to be successful.
Pierce, Jr. and I begin our sit-down by walking through the “Corridors of Time,” to explore his childhood. His answers to the question, “What three qualities best describe you as a little boy, a nipper?” will make you, well…chuckle! (Smile)
We fast forward to his college days: the businessman earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Chicago State University. He describes how that experience shaped him.
Eddie reveals that after discovering he was HIV positive, he became clinically depressed. He explains in heartfelt detail how the depression manifested itself--and how he eventually healed by using writing as his “safe haven.”
Next, the multifaceted talent, who refers to himself as a Black Christian HIV-positive SGL (same-gender-loving) writer, discusses the three works he’s penned: LOVE: Something Infinite, LOVE: From Behind, and LOVE Changes. Afterward, I ask him about the challenges he faces as a Black Christian HIV-positive SGL writer, and how he reconciles the Christian and SGL parts.
After learning that his first work would be “nearly impossible” to be accepted by traditional publishers, Pierce, Jr. devised a solution: the creation of Rainbow Room Publishing. He expounds on that journey, which includes the push to include LGBTQ+ HIV-positive characters. The publisher also clues us in on the innovative plans he has in store for the company.
Lastly, the indie publisher/author and I have a lively, in-depth chat on what it takes for aspiring and already published authors to achieve a level of success. Particularly, we zero in on effective marketing and promotion.
So, there ya have it! This new WYATT! is one helluva inviting, intriguing, and invigorating episode!
Y’all, undisputedly and undeniably, WYATT! is “Eargasm Fo' Tha Grown Folks!” Sho' Nuff.

Behind the Scenes with Eros Da Artiste

Rainbow Room Publishing, LLC concludes "The Pride Edition" of "The Summer Reading List" this week with a riveting interview featuring Eros Da Artiste!

INTRODUCING EROS DA ARTISTE

Eros Da Artiste (AKA Jay M. DeVaughn) is an author, musician, Director of Music, songwriter, vocal coach, visual artist, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as Autism Awareness.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Shaw University as well as a Master of Arts degree from Morgan State University where he was active as a soloist and chorister in the Morgan State University Choir.

Da Artist teaches voice from his own studio, DeVaughn Conservatory of Vocal Music, and works with children through the OrchKids program of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He divides his time between writing music and literature as well as singing with the Baltimore Men’s Chorus.

In addition to his most recent publication While the Shades Watch, a “self-love” book, he has authored two full-length fiction novels under “The Fellas” series, I Choose Pain and The Cost, under his literary moniker. After a small hiatus, he plans to add a third installment to “The “Fellas’ series.

Being that he had a life in the church, Eros grappled with releasing books that speak to the cruel realities of being LGBTQIA+ individuals and depicting the romance, friendship, and love that can be found within the community. He decided, after circumstances were altered, that he needed to add his voice to the voice of many who devote time and endeavors to educate as well as encourage and he has been going ever since!

Da Artist is a bonafide nature boy. He enjoys painting, taking long walks, embarking on cruises, learning about plants and flowers, and communing with nature. He currently resides in the Charles Village neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland.

His overall outlook on life is simply thus: The well-being of a whole individual and the pursuit of purpose is tantamount to living a balanced life.

His literary works can be purchased from the author directly or via Amazon Kindle. You may also listen to his music on YouTube under “Eros Da Artiste” or “Jay M. DeVaughn,” and follow him on IG, FB, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Host Eddie S Pierce Jr interviews Author "Naomi Rivers"

"Naomi Rivers presents THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story, her debut novel of literary fiction. THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story offers an alluring portrait of the love and life of Jasmine, Teresa, and their friends in Baltimore. The vibrant genesis of their relationship is revealed through parallel conversations of Jasmine, a pragmatic social worker, and Teresa, an elusive artist. Their perspectives — honest, intimate, heartfelt, and at times humorous — engage readers in a dynamic study of vulnerability and expectations.
THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story was released Tuesday, March 7, 2023. It is available in ebook and print versions at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, IndieBound, and other online book sellers, https://books2read.com/thisasimplecomplexlovestory.
ISBN: 979-8-9873297-0-2 (paperback) & 979-8-9873297-1-9 (ebook)
Naomi Rivers writes le***an and women’s fiction. She wrote THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story while traveling on four continents. Rivers is a retired U.S. military veteran, an NPR nerd, and resides with her wife and rescue dog on the east coast.

"I found “THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story,” to be intelligent in its intricacy, concise and purposeful in its messaging, elegant, expedient, and entertaining with regard to the literary depiction of a very comprehensive emotional range.

The stats: this novel clocks in 246 pages with 47 short chapters, each filled to the brim with a variety of humorous pop culture references (both model and vintage) including music, commercial slogans, jingles, soft but sensual phrasing, awesome, flirty innuendos and a surprisingly expert application of oxymorons which I consider high art!

Other selling points for “THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story” are its short, fast-paced chapters which simultaneously provide readers with a pleasurable experience and a sense of accomplishment as they are compelled to keep turning those pages illuminated with lively, relatable dialogue, vividly descriptive and easily imaginable narration, scenes, and settings.

Finally, Naomi Rivers tops off my favorite adult bevy with a metaphorical Gourmet Maraschino Cherry in the form of nine thought-provoking book club questions making “THIS: A Simple, Complex Love Story” “art you can use” and easily share." - Eddie S. Pierce Jr, Book Reviewer

BAAAAAAEBAAAAAAAY LOOK! WHEN I TELL YOU THE AUTHOR AND SUBJECT OF THE FOLLOWING REVIEW IS THEE TRUTH AND A TELLER OF THE SAME IT IS NO EXAGGERATION!

Author, musician, advocate, educator visual artist and so much more, Eros Da Artiste (AKA Jay M. DeVaughn) is a rare take on the adage “a Jack of all trades” because he masters them all!

Having earned degrees from Shaw University and Morgan State University as well as the all too important but lesser-acknowledged practical experience one can only gain from the School of Hard Knocks, Eros is the bonified and certified Renaissance Man, a moniker many
claim but far fewer deserve.

Disclaimer: As two Creative Professionals making it all happen, Da Artiste and I have been circling each other for several years now but only recently reached this Divinely Appointed meeting. To that end, I have a considerable amount of reading to do with regard to his literary efforts, but I am more than eager to finish and enthusiastically present my review of his first work “I Choose Pain,” book one in the ongoing series “The Fellas...”
..After concluding this alternately heart-breaking and heart-warming experience which had me at times raising a right-handed SGL Black Power fist and ready to swing a close-handed left I was all too ready to “have tea” with this personally awe-inspiring artist. Consider the following conversation an invitation to join us...
..You can purchase through Amazon Kindle, as well as listen to any music I have on YouTube under either name. You may also follow me on IG, FB, TikTok, Linked-In, and Twitter.

Thank you, Eros, Da Artiste for taking the time to speak with and inspire us. To our readers, look forward to more reviews of Eros’ works including “The Cost,” book two in “The Fellas” fictional series as well as “While the Shades Watch,” a non-fiction “self-love” book. Finally, to my fellow authors seeking a written review visit the “Services Page” on our website.
