We are looking for fun, interesting editorials with clothing we can actually wear day to day. All editorials must have at least 4 clothing changes along with their corresponding credits and we appreciate clothing from independent labels. We will only take a select few editorials. Please submit 5+ low-res images with all credits of everyone involved in the shoot. Please do not leave out any information when submitting. Images should be attached DIRECTLY in the submission e-mail without any font or text on the images. When you submit to Dusty Rose you acknowledge that the editors have the right to place the story in whichever sequence works for the magazine. It is the editor’s responsibility to add title text as well as credits to the image. We are finding because of the high number of e-mail submissions we get, we do not always catch submissions sent to us via drop box or other sending websites in time before they expire. We miss many submissions this way. Submitting is very simple your e-mail should have the following included:
- A short message introducing yourself and your story (you do not have to write a bio, or talk about the story in full details. The editors usually know what they like within the first or second image that we see)
- CREDITS! Very important we will no longer chase contributors/submitters for missing credits: 1. A title of your story. 2. All other credits: Photographer, stylists, model, and wardrobe credits as well (wardrobe is not necessary, only if you want it included)
- **If you are submitting wardrobe credits:
Please title the credits with the corresponding image so we know what belongs to what.
- 5+ low-res images should be directly attached to the e-mail. If there is an opportunity for the story to be published we will contact you and ask you to send the hi-res versions. We always have open themes unless otherwise stated. They must be season appropriate. Editorials should work with the current month/season of the issue. We have a Pinterest board for our mood board and inspiration themes. All submissions can be sent to: [email protected]
Your submissions will not be accepted if:
1. The images are not directly attached to the e-mail in low-res. This means no drop box, we transfer or links to other pages for submitting, we need to see the images right away. If you have an opportunity to be published you will be asked to send the hi-res versions in that case dropbox, we transfer and links are okay.
2. If there is a title and text already on the image. No matter how aesthetically pleasing the editorial is it will not be accepted if there is text already on the image.
- Submitters do not need to ask the editors before submitting. We do not require mood boards or a link to your website.
- Credits/ Mistakes: If we make a credit Mistake please simply send us a friendly e-mail letting us know we have made an error. We will fix it for you and re-release or if we cannot re-release we will send you the Title Page digital tear with the fixed credits. There is no need to send us a rude and angry e-mail or message. We are also looking for reader submissions! We will pick a winner to showcase their own DIY hair, make up, nails, or outfit of the day (OOTD). If you are a reader that wants to submit: you must have a close up photo in a large file PDF format. We would like you to choose one topic or the other (ex: just nails or just make up not all 3). If you are doing an OOTD you must be able to submit where the outfit is from and its price range. Each issue we do a "real talk" article, not sugar coated, but real, raw facts all girls want to hear; we want to break the taboo on s*x, drugs, our bodies, cheating, or cheaters. We want to hear it all! If you are a writer wanting to submit, email us with the chosen topic you are interested in and we will approve or suggest something, this does not mean it will automatically be picked up.
