9 years ago I just got my license and bought an old beat up glider from eBay for 50£ and went groundhandling at the local park.
There were houses, trees, rotor, dog s**t, holes, the wing was very porous and the lines and shrunk/stretched loads. All in all it was a terrible groundhandling experience but I loved it.
It gave me time to really lean in to my mistakes, get very familiar with the equipment and wonder why the glider behaved the way it did.

In the midst of chaos it can very difficult to know what to do, but through training you vision and situational awareness opens up and you’re able to predict what will happen next. This is super important to not create a cascade event and react in the best way.

How much brake range do you use?
Even though beginners and experienced pilots alike only use less than 50% brake range in normal flying it is the 0 to 10% range that gets most people into a dangerous situation.
