🚨 **Important Safety Notice for Parents!** 🚨

Yesterday evening, there was a crash involving two kids on an E-Dirt bike and a car at Capitola Rd. near 17th Avenue. The children weren’t wearing helmets. One child sustained major injuries, while the other had minor injuries.

Here’s what every parent should know:

- **Only DMV-registered e-motorcycles are allowed on roads or Off-Highway Vehicle parks.**

- **Riders must have a California Driver’s License with an M1 or M2 endorsement and carry insurance.**

- **Everyone, regardless of age, must wear a DOT-approved helmet.**

Let’s work together to keep our kids safe by following these essential guidelines.

For more information on E-bikes and E-Dirt bikes, visit [CHP Bike and Ped Safety](https://www.chp.ca.gov/Programs-Services/Services-Information/Bike-and-Ped-Safety).

Stay safe! 🛵⚠️

Bad boys bad boys ……… stay home Labor Day weekend!

🚨 MAXIMUM ENFORCEMENT PERIOD🚨

As the Labor Day holiday approaches, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is launching a statewide enforcement effort to keep the public safe on the road through the holiday weekend. 🌟 The CHP will initiate a statewide Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) beginning at 6:01 p.m. on Friday, August 30, and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 2.

During the holiday weekend, all available CHP officers will be on patrol to encourage safe driving and assist motorists. 🚓

Remember to keep yourself and others safe by designating a sober driver or using public transit. 🚌 If you see a driver who seems impaired, call 9-1-1 right away. Be prepared to give the dispatcher details about the vehicle, including the license plate number, location, and direction of travel. Your call could save a life. 🌿

Let’s all work together to ensure a safe and happy Labor Day weekend! 🎉

This engineer's seat view shows what it took to get concrete up to the bridges. Where footings were necessary, many trips had to be made, one concrete truck at a time. The trucks were loaded onto one of the old Westside Lumber Company flatcars and pushed up to the work site.
