SINCE THE RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IS HIGH ACCORDING TO STATS SA HOW CAN IT BE CREATED?

25/08/2021

Grant us your Spirit, Lord our God, that we may discern your good, acceptable, and perfect will. Give us joy in fighting on your side, so that what is good, acceptable, and perfect may be given to the world. Wherever we are and whatever work we do, give us zeal to serve you and be guided by you so that your will may be done and your kingdom come, so that already today we may find happiness even though only in hope. Amen.

Unemployment Hits Highest Since 2008.

The unemployment rate has reached its highest number since 2008. According to the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS), the unemployment in South Africa has reached 34.4% in the second three months of 2021.

The statistics were released by the Statistician-General Risenga Maluleke on Tuesday. Maluleke said that for the second quarter of 2021 the number of employed personnel has decreased by 54 000 reaching 14,9 million while the number of unemployed persons increased by 584 000 to 7,8 million.

Maluleke attributed the unemployment to the South African Labour markets being more favourable to men than it is to women.

“The unemployment rate according to the expanded definition of unemployment increased by 1.2 percentage points to 44.4% in quarter 2, 2021, compared to quarter 1, 2021. The results indicate that the South African labour market is more favourable to men than it is to women,”

“The rate of unemployment among women was 36.8% in the second quarter of 2021 compared to 32.4% among men according to the official definition of unemployment”, Maluleke explained.

The number of discouraged work-seekers has increased by 186 000 (5.9%), while the number of people who were not economically active for reasons other than discouragement decreased by 571 000 (4.5%) between the two quarters. Statician-General further stated that this resulted in a net of 386 000 not economically active citizens.

During this period, the rate of the unemployment among the Black African women was 41,0% compared to 8,2% among White Women, 22,4% among Indian/Asian women and 29% among Coloureds.

SASSA R350 Grant Payments Start Today.

SASSA has officially started rolling out payments for approved applicants who applied for the R350 grant.

While payments for the temporary grant start today, SASSA has warned applicants that there is no specific date for grant payments. This means that not all approved beneficiaries will receive their payments today or on a set date.

"Payments for the special COVID-19 SRD grant will be made from today (23 August 2021,) however beneficiaries cannot be give a specific date as to when that particular beneficiary will be paid." SASSA explained.

Some applicants have reported having trouble tracking their application status. SASSA has apologised to all applicants, and has vowed to fix any glitches on the website.

"Soon after we fix the system you will be able to check on the website. We are working on this. Apologies for this" SASSA tweeted in response to an applicant.

SASSA has warned applicants to beware of scams, as these are the only official application channels.

"SASSA doesn't endorse websites and apps offering SASSA services like applications for the Covid-19 SRD grant. Be careful of potential scams. Don't give out your details to strange links." the agency said in a tweet.

Lord our God, we long to come into your light, to live in your strength, that we may do what pleases you and furthers your kingdom on earth. Protect us from evil and do not let us be wounded by the flaming arrows of the evil one. Make paths for us whenever we do not know how to go forward. We always know you are our Father. Because you are our Father, we want to be courageous and persevere to the end so that you can make our lives bear fruit for you, to the glory of your name. Amen.

And, with all these, take up the great shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16, NEB

Mzansi calls Uzalo actress Thuthuka Mthembu The New Kelly Khumalo.

Uzalo actress, Thuthuka Mthembu, was accused of being the new Kelly Khumalo after it was noticed that all of her onscreen boyfriends passed away after only dating her.

Although fans knew that it was just a joke, that didn’t stop them from teasing her and making her jokes about her.

Fans started calling her Kelly Khumalo 2.0 and Kelly Khumalo lite. Nonzeko Motjeleba commented this on the Facebook post, “ She is slowly replacing Kelly Khumalo.”

A fan accused her of using muthi and love potions on her boyfriends, which is why they all die. Bontle Zintle left this comment on the post, “Nonka uses muthi, that is why every boy that she is in love with they always say rest in peace. Before I forget who is Phaphukani.”

People who watch Uzalo know for sure that Nonkanyiso doesn’t use muthi, so her statement is baseless.

A Prayer for Guidance

Holy Spirit,

You know my heart. You understand my deepest wants and needs, and You know my every intention. You know me better than I know myself. There is nowhere I could run to escape Your presence, and nothing I could hide from You!

And that’s why, right now, I am asking You to give me Your divine wisdom and guidance.

I don’t always know what to pray for. My soul is weary and I am tired. I often worry about making the right decision—but Iwant to live a life that honors You.

Even though I may feel like I can’t move forward or see what’s ahead—You see me. And You know me. So please guide me.Show me the paths that lead to abundant life, andconvict me when I am tempted to stray from You.

As You guide me,restore me. I will place my hope in You at all times because You know all things, and by You, my life is held together. You are my strength in times of need, and You have become my salvation.

So hold me close, Lord, and teach me to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given me. Direct my steps as You guard my life, because I want to glorify You.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

When Will New R350 Grants Be Paid?

Applications for the new R350 grant are up and running with SASSA preparing for the first payments to take place. If you're wondering when these payments will happen and about R350 grant payment dates, keep reading.

If you've applied to the Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant during this reinstatement and would like to know when you'll be receiving payment, keep reading to find out what we know so far.

Beneficiaries can expect the first R350 grant payments to be made in the last week of August. Payments will be made from August until March 2022.

As for when the payment date is, SASSA has repeatedly made it clear that the R350 grant does not have a set payment date. Instead, they aim to pay applicants as soon as they have been approved and verified.

For faster payments to occur, SASSA is urging applicants to provide banking details upfront if they have a bank account.

If you do not have a bank account, you will then be able to fetch your grant money from a Post Office or a Bank Mobile Money Transfers (cash send).

The R350 grant is specifically for people who lost employment due to the pandemic.

17/08/2021

Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for holding open the way into our hearts and for bringing us the peace of Jesus Christ. Help us to keep this way open. Grant us peace in this tempest-torn world. Grant us peace when many struggles and uncertainties try to occupy our hearts. We have no strength in ourselves, only in him who is standing at our side and who will never forsake us, who lives and gives strength. His light will always break in anew among us. His light will shine on many people and lead them to the promised day, the day that will bring all our hopes to fulfillment. Amen.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27, NIV

16/08/2021

Dear Father in heaven, we come before you to receive what we need as your children who cannot find help and guidance on our own, but only through your Spirit. Enlighten us by your Word, which you alone can give. You will give us your Word so that we can know with absolute certainty and clarity how to serve you. Your Word will show us the truth that is to be revealed on earth in Jesus Christ. Shelter us in your hands. Strengthen us especially during suffering, and free us from fear and trembling. Fill our hearts with patience and joy. Amen.
