One step closer to covering the White House...My boss/fellow reporter captured an important milestone in my journalism career -- questioning and photographing Gov. Ron DeSantis during a meeting with community leaders in Taylor County on Monday. I will say that preparing to ask a major political leader a reporter question was one of the most nerve-wracking tasks of my career to date 😅

They rose in the dead of night, answering the call for felon apprehension, plunging into the unknown — guided by a four-legged tracking machine."

The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) invited me to its K9 Academy graduation ceremony, hosted by Taylor Correctional Institution, last Friday, Feb. 26. Not only was I honored to be personally invited, I was ecstatic for the full hour that FDC Press Secretary Paul Walker and Sgt. Eric Sadler dedicated to demonstrating exactly what the FDC's special K9 teams do. From locating missing persons to felon apprehension, bloodhounds Turbo and Dylan proved to be true four-legged tracking machines, and -- as I quickly learned -- you can run, but you can't hide.
