Escargot Books was the brainchild of entrepreneur/writer Richard La Plante. With the support of his two close friends, British film star Terence Stamp and Mega-selling author Peter Mayle; La Plante went about establishing a first-class independent publishing company dedicated to an eclectic mix of books ranging from memoirs to crime/thrillers. The only criterion is that the books must be the very

best of their genre. Since its inception Escargot has acquired rights to works by people with great stories to tell, from STONE FREE by Rolling Stones founder Andrew Loog Oldham to Going Virtual by internet serial entrepreneur Todd Miller to Deadman’s Bust, the debut thriller by a former ma*****na grower busted by the DEA and sent to prison. All this coupled with new and re-issued work from Stamp, Mayle and La Plante makes Escargot an independent publisher determined to make a mark in the new digitalized world of book publishing.
