When you have an excess of fishing gear, don't be afraid to spread the love!
How about a little ice fishing for Yellow Perch?
While my primary objective for this ice fishing season is big Bluegill, I decided to chase a few Perch this past weekend. I haven't quite dialed in the gills so I thought this would be the next best thing :)
It definitely felt nice to build up some more hard water confidence. Now, fingers crossed I can trick a few donkey gills this weekend.
Ain’t nothin’ like a little fatty mama drama #SalmoTrutta
If I could turn on a dime like this bass, I’d be catching touchdowns in the NFL!
Happy Easter everyone! Have a safe and blessed day with the ones you love! If you can’t see them in person, make sure to call or video chat 💚🤠
Be ready for a lot of light line action this year... In my next video, you will see a BIG FISH on 2lb test 🤠👏🏽
Look very closely (bottom right) & you will see the little brown who decided against pelting my jerkbait. I’ll tell you what - these fish love tail whipping around my lures! ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED - they aren’t easy to see and definitely blend in to the silt!
My friend Dan told me that they are looking to stun the bait and will return to eat it if they succeed. This is good intel for how I might start working baits moving forward. For example) twitching a plastic through a pool and when one of these fellas decides to short strike, I’ll kill my bait and see if he comes back.
Who knows?! It’s all trial and error and I learn something new with every trip! That’s the fun part 🤠
Summarize your YouTube channel with one fish catch...
Swim away young Trutta 💚
I trust the process. I know that I haven’t caught any Donks yet but as I put in the hard work, my time will come!
Listen to the sound it makes when this bass kicks off to swim away. Notice the bubbly vortex it sends into the camera. NOW let’s think about why vibration is so key to fishing lures. On a smaller scale, baitfish send these same waves through the water. This allows bass and other predators to find them (using their lateral line). Pretty neat stuff to think about!
Thick mama juicies on deck for tomorrow’s spicy video.
Can I recover from an absolute 💩 fishing trip? Check out the newest video now on the YouTubes to find out!
BEWARE - if you ice fish with me and the fishing is slow, you may get a concussion. Sorry Garrett🤕
The float and fly (or jig) tipped with live bait or a small plastic absolutely crushes panfish! I definitely recommend everyone give it a try if they haven’t.
