Hello and Merry Christmas!

My sister-in-law shared with me that her aunt was recently involved in a terrible car accident. I know there are a lot of causes out there which you can use your hard earned money to support, but if you find it in your heart to consider a donation to her family during this long road to recovery, that would be absolutely appreciated.

I was personally inspired by the post Tara wrote this morning, which shared her experience going through this car accident. I won't share the whole thing, but one admirable portion of the post read: "As I'm headed to inpatient rehab, I want to say that I feel no anger towards the man that hit me and I told the police to let him know that. Everybody makes mistakes in life. I also want to say that I embrace this mess ahead of me with open arms as God has me here for a reason."

NEW NAME! As I recently mentioned at the end of one of my fishing videos, I have decided to move away from the “Online Outdoorsman” name. After a lot of ideas, I landed on… Fish Anything!

I am very excited about this name as it truly indicates what I’m all about. My videos and content will continue to be focused on inspiring a love for this sport through showing an appreciation for all species/styles of fishing.

My goal is to become the best multispecies angler possible. Stay tuned as I continue to document my journey on YouTube.

It looks like the Daiwa Procyon LT is marked down because Daiwa isn't making it anymore. I have the size 1000 and it is one of my personal favorite reels I own for UL fishing. Definitely worth considering!

I don’t typically post food photos but I felt you should all know that I finally made some fish tacos for my dad and I tonight! These were from a few of the crappie I caught earlier this spring.

Pretty simple recipe - just fried them in bread crumbs with some tasty seasoning my wife bought me for my birthday earlier this year. Added some red cabbage, cremosa salsa, and some shredded cheese and called it good.. I’m no chef but these were honestly delicious. The modelo pulled it all together 🤠

Here she is! The 10.5” Bluegill I have been hunting for a year. I’m pretty sure this fish was a female which definitely surprised me; I figured I’d get a male when the time came just due to the fact that they are the nest-guarders. Either way, this fish obviously meant a lot to me. If I’m being honest, I think she’s my favorite documented catch yet (and as you know, I’ve caught a pile of fish on camera).

There is just something about that feeling you get when you work your butt off for something and then it finally happens. This fish wouldn’t have happened had it not been for my friend who went out of his way to invite me out for a day of fishing because he knew that chance existed in this body of water. That leads me to my next point…

Big Bluegill can happen in a lot of places… BUT they can happen a lot more often in the RIGHT body of water. If the body of water sustains healthy growth and is treated the right way by the angling community, it can be one hell of a good time. Many of the lakes I typically fish have much higher levels of fishing pressure (and harvest) so the average size goes down heavily. I would argue that many of our lakes could produce fish just like this one, but sadly they are not given the chance.

I hope you learned as much as I did throughout The Pursuit Of A 10. Now go out there and find you one!
