I am glad we didn't breach 100 hours for this one. The RNG was not RNG-ing most of the time.
In general, it's a fun, pretty game and flight mechanic. If it wasn't these three basic criteria, I probably would have dropped it after finishing the main campaign, but I figured these characteristics would carry me through to 100% achievements.
You do feel its state of undeath when you get into the grind of achievement hunting as there isn't much content variety to keep you entertained throughout.
And that's not even entirely true. There were a TON of things I could do, BUT I could only really reliably engage in the missions I could solo, as going into public missions meant that I would lose frames significantly the moment another player was in range. Literally, in hunting for collectibles only present in the Public Freeplay mode, every time another player crosses my path, the game just chokes.
Buy for the black friday sale price if you're interested. Be prepared for a terribly optimized game even after graphic settings have been adjusted, not much content, but pretty good-looking cast of characters, generous auto-aim, and easy flight controls.
or just play Warframe.
I mention the generosity of the auto-aim (and enemy hitboxes) as well as the ease of controls during flight because these "easy mode" things are a boon when you are constantly losing enough frames to threaten your survivability in missions. haha. The game on Normal Mode is pretty survivable. On the occasions that the game becomes a PowerPoint presentation in the middle of a horde, your Javelin should be tanky enough to survive. But sometimes, I want to be in harder difficulties to increase loot droprate to speed up my achievement grind. And that's when I just get smooshed the moment I can't react properly because the game starts playing at the statue challenge.
Personally, I got this after giving it a go via GamePass. I fell in love with its look and flight mechanic and could not let it go. This game has me gripped and I was determined to play it. BUT I was not willing to pay full price for it. When its Legion of Dawn edition price dropped during the most recent Black Friday sale, I grabbed it, no hesitation, no ragrets.
I really didn't have to, but getting it 100% achievement was so I could be sure I've scratched that itch this game has cast upon me, and I could say for certain I have given this game a more than fair shot. Still no ragrets in spending nigh-100 hours on it. I just have a surface-level disappointment that this game was abandoned.
