When we think of a fishing trip, our minds, following their conditioned algorithms, conjure up ideal scenarios tied to our comfort zone: rivers in pristine nature, mountain streams, lakes surrounded by majestic forests, Caribbean flats… in short, places that usually require at least a flight, a decent budget, and a ten-day vacation minimum.
But reality often forces us to work with the limited logistics that everyday life allows, between work and family commitments.

And this is where the wonderful opportunities close to home come into play—numerous Italian destinations that offer an extraordinary mix, not only in terms of fishing and waters but also in terms of art, history, culture, and food and wine experiences the whole world envies us for.

The perfect know-how in Italian fishing tourism undoubtedly belongs to the northeastern regions: Trentino, Veneto, Friuli, Alto Adige. These areas have managed to pair fishing with a wide range of options for an active and rejuvenating holiday, suitable for the whole family—not just the angler.

What about other regions? Yes, there are also interesting destinations in central and southern Italy, each with different yet equally beautiful characteristics that can offer truly unique experiences.

One such destination is Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. Often simplistically associated with its famous olives, Ascoli—the “City of 100 Towers”—has much more to offer.
