Olivia Fecteau I'm currently on medical leave from News 5 due to my cancer diagnosis, but I hope to return soon! Newhouse School of Public Communications.

I joined the News 5 Cleveland team in March 2019, after spending more than three years as a reporter at NBC4 in Columbus. There, I worked the morning shift for two years, waking up at 1:30 a.m. to bring Central Ohio the news of the day starting at 4 o'clock. Before moving to Columbus, I worked as a nightside reporter at NBC 10 in Providence, Rhode Island from 2014 to early 2016, and as a one-man-b

and reporter in Huntington/Charleston, West Virginia from 2013 to 2014. I'm a graduate of Cornell University and Syracuse University's S.I. I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. My husband Brett is a broadcaster for Columbus Crew SC, and he's originally from Northeast Ohio (near Youngstown). We live on the West Side suburbs with our dog, Buster. Please reach out to me via email ([email protected]) if you have a story idea!

Hello all!

I haven't been on here in a while. Law school has been super busy! But I wanted to share this because it's extremely important to me.

As a volunteer and board of trustees fellow for our regional chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I'm helping raise money for the Visionaries of the Year campaign, working to make the largest impact possible for the LLS mission. We have an outstanding class of candidates raising funds for blood cancer research, advocacy, and support! (I am not a candidate myself this year, but as a board member, I am helping raise as much as I can!)

My cancer experience was (and continues to be) life-altering in so many ways. I'm incredibly thankful for the treatment I received, and for the support we've found in the community of blood cancer survivors.

Three years ago today (10/27/2020), I was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma at 31 years old. I officially finished chemo this summer. Yesterday, I received confirmation that I am still in remission and MRD-negative!

In a few weeks, I'll be speaking at a young adult blood cancer panel in Cincinnati, through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I'm happy to be a volunteer (and Board of Trustees fellow) for this amazing organization and to share my own experience, both here and in general, in the hopes of helping other young adults with cancer.
