Black Bird Film Festival Birds can fly, and so can dreamers. A teacher once told me ‘The answers to life’s greatest questions are in film’. So this festival is for those dreamers.

Birds fly, and so can those that dare to dream. Black Bird Film Festival is a UK based short film festival. The film industry can be brutal, so we've decided to choose kindness and celebrate the work of those with big hearts and big dreams. Official Selections
Best Script: The Songbird
Best Editing: The Magpie
Best Cinematographer: The Owl
Best Director: The Cuckoo
Best Micro-short: The Hummingbird
Best Performance: The Peacock

Awards:
The Classy Bird Award

To all who follow BBFF, this is a tearful goodbye.
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the end of the black bird film festival.
In the interest of honesty we would like to tell you that although we consider our two events to be huge successes, due in o small part to your love and support, it is due to other growing commitments that we are unable to commit to a third event in 2020.
The festival did exactly what we hoped it would. Encourage filmmakers and help them move forward in their careers - we just didn’t realise it would be us moving forward so far and so soon.
I can’t thank you enough for your generosity, your support, your kindness and your determination to support us and the arts and of course the charities we helped along the way.
This is quite an emotional post for me and I’ve put it off writing it out of simply not wanting this to end.
To all the filmmakers - thank you for sharing your stories. To all the volunteers thank you for your hard work. And to you, the donators, the audience - well it just wouldn’t have happened without you.

Fly on.

Kind wishes,
AJay & Lian
