Welcome to the new page for our members in the Interior region!
This is an unofficial page, as I am just an everyday off reserve member living down here also who is tired of being left out if the loop. Lots happens up in the territory for on-reserve members and they have satalite offices in PG and Vancouver. They've said for over a year now one will be started here but I see zero movement toward it. I figured I'd just start our own page and at the very least get an idea of how many of us are in the area and maybe start getting funding to host events from the Band. We matter and deserve to access culture - ESPECIALLY since we cannot be connected to our Land. Those on reserve have so much more opportunity to connect than we do, that its time we take up space and make out voices heard.
I want us to be able to have beading events, traditional drumming and storytelling nights, bannock and soup nights, zoom set ups for the AGA's and other meetings we want to attend but can't due to location.
It's time as members that we let Chief and Council know what we need and want. In theory, even though they are modern day Indian Agents, they do work for us, for their community. We are apart of that community and our voices matter.
Please like the page if you're a Nak'azdli member in the Interior region and want to keep up to date on what's happening. I'm going to try to keep this page updated as well as find members in the area. Invite those you know!
