Another category which is open to a lot of interpretation. With the amount of sales and discounts available, full on carbon plated race shoes are more usable as speed session shoes. It is a very subjective category. For example, I am sure many people’s favourite uptempo shoes have already appeared in our daily trainer article.

This is probably the section which will cause the most arguments. What makes a daily shoe? Whatever your preference: plated, soft, stable or bouncy, the daily shoe is the dependable running buddy. It’s the shoe you reach for the most. The one you share the majority of your running time with.

With Japan’s legendary Hakone Ekiden around the corner, brands are beginning to release their shoes ready for Ekiden season. We have a diverse collection of colours this year

1️⃣ give us quite a subtle paint job on the Fast-R NITRO ELITE 2 which looks like it has a hint of The Joker about the midsole
2️⃣ takes us on more of a space age journey with their silver and red Adios Pro 4 which is sure to divide opinions
3️⃣ can’t be accused of subtlety with their Vaporfly 3 dressed up like a hot rod for setting the Japanese roads aflame. The design is also a throwback to the 2002 Air Streak Spectrum Plus and celebrates the long history of collaboration between the American Giant and Japanese athletes

🇪🇸 MARATÓN VALENCIA 2024 | SHOE PODIUM

🥇 continued their amazing year with the Adios Pro Evo v1 taking yet another gold on the feet of in a time of 2:02:05. Women’s gold went to in a time of 2:16:49 in ’s original Vaporfly

🥈’s Alphafly 3 showed more of its resurgence on the feet of Deresa Geleta who took silver in 2:02:38. Second across the line in the women’s race was taken by in an Metaspeed Edge Paris with a time of 2:18:26

🥉 finished the men’s podium in ’s Alphafly 3. He completed the 42.2km in 2:04:24. Tiruye Mesfin took the bronze in 2:18:35 wearing the Alphafly 3

After a world tour over the past 12 months, the World Marathon Major series has come to an end. In the graphic above, we delve into the shoes which made the podiums and those who took all the glory
