🚨Meet local emergency service personnel, first responders and government departments and learn how to react and prepare for when disaster strikes.

In an exciting project milestone, early works for the new Toowoomba Hospital have now started.

All existing services at the Baillie Henderson campus will remain open while works are in progress.

🚗 Carparking:
You'll still be able to park on site while visiting our campus. The carpark closest to the worksite will close in May 2024. Before it closes, more carparking will be constructed across the campus to make sure there are no reductions in the total number of carparks available.

🚦 Traffic management:
In late April/early May 2024, Burnview Avenue (from Nicoll Avenue to Mort Street) will close to maintain a safe worksite. Signed detours will be in place to guide road users. Footpath and bike entry will be through the Tor Street entrance.

⚠️ Attention Toowoomba and Greater Region ⚠️

Smoke is currently impacting Toowoomba and surrounding areas due to a westerly wind change which occurred this afternoon and several fires which continue to burn across South West Queensland.

Residents should close windows and doors, switch air conditioners to recycle or recirculate to reduce smoke coming inside your home, and those with a medical condition are advised to keep respiratory medication close by.

🚨Regional bushfires health update 🚨

As bushfires continue to burn across the Darling Downs, it’s important that people take steps to look after their health.

- If you’re staying with friends, family or in a new environment, remember to wash your hands regularly with warm soapy water, drink plenty of clean fresh water, reduce screen time before you go to sleep.
- Got your pet with you? Make sure your animals have adequate shade, water and food.
- Decrease your risk of smoke inhalation by staying indoors with doors and windows closed and avoiding outdoor physical exercise in smoke affected areas.

If you’re unwell, seek medical assistance, our emergency departments remain open.
