Hi all!

This past weekend was such a whirlwind. We wrapped up Let’s Go To Court with two fabulous sold-out shows. It was emotional. It was fun. It was… everything?!

Thank you all for making our sendoff so special. If there’s one thing that was crystal clear from this weekend, it’s that this community is fantastic. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. We had listeners fly in from as far away as Australia. We had listeners come to KC for their first-ever solo trip! And.. ahem… not to brag, but Ellyn Marsh and Joey Taranto from I Think Not were at our Saturday show. (Did we sing Christmas Shoes in front of two Broadway singers? Yes, I’m afraid so.)

At the risk of being a little cheesy, it was heartwarming to see how much this community has embraced not just us, but our families. My sister Kyla (a.k.a. The Mayor of LGTC) and my dad, DP, made it their mission to meet EVERYONE. DP was out there giving unsolicited financial advice, telling people his shoes were NOT from Costco, and generally living his best life. Meanwhile, Kyla was posing for pics, greeting everyone, and doing her best to make her role as mayor a lifetime appointment.

In other words, it was so damn fun. As soon as we get the video files, we’ll put the shows on Patreon. We also have some leftover merch from the live shows. Once we get all of it sorted, we’ll put it up for sale. (On that note, if you’re still wanting a Juvenile Bigfoot hoodie or a Dixon Cider shirt, you’re in luck! We’ll be restocking those soon.)

As for what comes next… Norm and I are hard at work on our history podcast. We’re getting video set up, we’re revamping the studio, and we’re scheduled to record our first episode next week! That episode will be available to Bob Mosses on Tuesday, April 16. All other patrons will get it Wednesday, April 17.

Umm… one more fun thing. A couple weeks ago, we asked you to help us select a name for our new podcast. We provided four options. Old Timey Podcast won by a landslide. But there was one big problem. When we surveyed people who weren’t LGTC listeners, they weren’t into the name. That got us a little worried. (We are business cats, after all.) The second biggest vote-getter was Dead Folks You Should Know, but several of you correctly pointed out that that name is a little too similar to the very popular history podcast, Stuff You Should Know. So we’re coming at you with a brand new poll. If you have a minute, would you help us name the new podcast by voting in this poll? (For real this time!) https://shorturl.at/gnstZ

Well folks, there’s no easy way to say this, so we’ll get right to it. The time has come to end the podcast.

First off, thank you all for being part of this community. The past six years have been absolutely wild. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve… talked about bu****les. (Too often, perhaps??)

Many of you have been part of this community for years. We appreciate your warmth, your support, and your willingness to cackle along with two very goofy grown women. We’re blown away by how big this little indie podcast has become. We started with one microphone on a TV tray, and we’re ending on March 29 & 30th with two sold out live shows. What a way to go. We couldn’t have done it without you.

As you can probably imagine, this decision wasn’t an easy one. We talk about it quite a bit on this week’s episode (287: Food Fights). Arriving at this decision has been tough, but we know that it will free us up to do what we’re meant to do. For Brandi, that’ll mean spending more time with her family, having *just one* full-time job, and getting out of content creation. For Kristin… well, first she has to get her bu****le back from Brandi. After that? Who knows!

Thank you all again for being part of this community. You’re the skeeziest scunches in all the land, the best listeners this side of the mighty Mississip’, and the meanest Bob Mosses this town has ever seen. We appreciate you.
