"Games against Ramsgate, you guarantee three things, first of all good hospitality at the Australian Arms for our fans before the game with food and drink, it would be freezing, and we would be warmed up with a fiercely competitive game with Ramsgate featuring 5 ex United players with Jake Mcintyre now their captain.
As it turned out the boys put in an excellent performance and deserved at least a draw, dominating large sections of the game. It started at so well with Omar Lawson putting us ahead in the 6th minute with a perfectly timed run onto a through ball from Adem to slot past the keeper, despite screams of offside from the Ramsgate fans. We than dominated the possession with neat crisp passing and could have scored a couple more with shots from Gil, Henry and Adem but for fine saves from the keeper. Then a defensive lapse allowed Ramsgate to equalise in the 36th minute with a near post header. This saw Ramsgate's best period of the game till half time, and they went ahead 9 minutes later when Pat failed to hold onto a long shot and the rebound was fired in.
We started with purpose in the second half with Toby Ajala tapped in from a second attempt after a failed attempt at a bicycle kick from a cross in the 47th minute. We then had momentum and controlled the game with neat build up play but the final pass just fell short. Ramsgate were causing concern with their quick breakaways, and it was a similar attack when they took the lead. The ball came into the box and we failed to clear and after some pinball, the ball was eventually fired in, in the 72nd minute. Tommy rung the chances bringing on Johan Ter Horst and Charlie Dickens to help push for the equaliser, but Ramsgate hung on. Liam was thrown up front and almost hooked in from short range but just failed to make contact, and thats how it finished.

💚🔩Ashford United 4 Haywards Heath 0🔩💚

"We have our mojo back!!.
After two draws and a loss in our last 3 games, we needed a big performance to get back on track. Playing Haywards Heath who sit four from bottom gave us the best chance to do so. Omari Hibbert had returned to Dulwich following his short loan and Henry Muggeridge returned from 6 weeks out.
From the start we dominated play and could have had 7 or 8 as we looked like a different team to the previous three games. As it was, we had four different scorers today Omarr Lawson in the 14th minute, Lanre Azeez 41st minute, Gary Lockyer in the 60th minute and Man of the Match Henry Muggeridge in the 85th minute. This was the perfect build up for our next game away against table toppers Ramsgate ko 3.00pm. As it was we had the added bonus of the top three Ramsgate, Chatham and Whitehawk all losing today, so we moved up to second in the league table. Finally, he can't stay away! It was good to see George Nikaj in the crowd watching his former teammates as he was cup tied so could not play for Dover today"

Ashford United v Whitehawk
As Ashford United Football Club head to Chatham today, let's recap on their match againsy Whitehawk FC last weekend. Thanks to Dave Jones at Ashford United FC Fan group
💚🔩 Ashford United 1 Whitehawk FC 1 🔩💚
Attendance :- 344
"This was to be our toughest game of the season with Whitehawk unbeaten in 14 starts!. It wasnt helped with George Nikaj being recalled by Dover so we had a new striking partnership of Gary Lockyer and Omari Hibbert. Jared Tresparderne also made his debut in midfield replacing Josh Wisson and Bradley Simms returned in defence.
For the first 15 minutes or so we were chasing shadows with Whitehawk hitting the post with the rebound of the keeper going for a corner. We started to take a foothold in the game and things started to turn when a speculative shot from Jarred Tresparderne in the 22nd minute from 25 yards out arrowed into the bottom corner. This seemed to give the lads confidence and we had good chances from both strikers to grab a second with Gil and Bradley creating havoc down the right. The wind was taken out of our sails when Whitehawk equalised just before half time from a superb free kick that no keeper would have saved , not even Jacob who picked up Player of the Month before the game from Ernie Warren who, with a string of great performances, helped secure us a good points tally for October.
The second half saw both sides create good opportunities to take the game in cup style end to end play but neither clinical enough in their finish. Whitehawk almost snatched it at the end when they hit the crossbar, but a draw was a fair and good result for us as we fielded yet another different team. It was great to see Johan Ter Horst come on for the last 20 minutes and his pace caused a few issues for their defence.
I would have taken a draw before kick off against a side that have started like an express train today we have another when we are away to top of the table Chatham, ko 3.00pm COYNAB"

💚🔩Ashford United 2 Hanworth Villa 1 🔩💚
Attendance :- 260
We took on Hanworth Villa in the 1st Preliminary Round of the FA cup today looking to put some of the wrongs from our Bank Holiday defeat to Faversham, to right.
We gave new striker George Nikaj, on initial one month loan from Dover, his debut playing up alongside Lauric Diakiesse. It all started well with Ashford dominating from the start creating openings particularly down the right where Bradley, Adem and Louis were opening Hanworth up at will. It was Adem who fired us into the lead in the 6th minute with a fine strike from just out side the box. We continued to press and the second soon came in the 29th minute with another attack down the right and this time Bradley squared to Lauric to stroke the ball home for his first competitive goal.
So 2-0 at the break and it should really have been 5! The second half was to follow a similar pattern as the East Grinstead game where we still had good possession but created little and just seemed content to keep Hanworth at bay as they stepped up their pace to try and get back into the game. Despite their increased pressure Jacob still did not have to make any real saves. However you still had the feeling that a late goal may come and sure enough a clumsy challenge in the box awarded them a penalty which they duly converted through Sam Merson (pauls, lad), sending Jacob the wrong way. This lead a nervy 5 minutes of injury time but this time, we saw the game out to move into the next round, and put the '2-0' hoodoo to rest for the time being.

💚💛🔩 Sutton Athletic FC 1 Ashford United 2 🔩💚💛
Attendance :- 131
This preliminary round game of the FA Cup was very much a game of two halves. Sutton started of playing neat one touch football out from the back and dominated the possession in the first part of the half keeping our defence on their toes, Despite having the better of the game they never really tested Jacob Russell in goal as most of their attempts were wayward. Midway through the half we unfortunately lost new signing Emile Ngot we he turned an ankle. He was replaced by Johan Ter Horst who was man of the match putting in a really good shift. After 35 minutes we tested the keeper for the first time when Adem Ramadan had a shot parried away but after 41 minutes he ran onto a flick on from Laurie Diakesse to fire across the keeper to put us one up against the run of play. However within 3 minutes Sutton were level following a defensive mix up when their forward nipped to lift a lob over Jacob to go in off the post, which is no more than they deserved.
I am guessing Tommy got the hair dryer out at halftime as we were a different team from the start. We went to three at the back replacing Adem with Charlie Dickens and from the start we pressed high up making it difficult for them to play out from the back. We were now getting a lot more possession and picking up a lot more of the second balls when they were forced to make long clearances.
Our only problem is the final ball was not quite their with headers and shots missing the target, and when we did get a shot on target their keeper made good saves. We finally got the goal we deserved in the 86th minute from a corner and following a couple of headers the ever reliable Mamadou Diallo poked home the winning goal, which is reward for him for a string of good performances over the past half dozen games. We then managed the rest of the game ke
