Doing the editorial of a global leadership and management magazine, stories of abusive leadership and management come my way time and time again.
Many years ago, I too experienced it. Rebelling against it, my union arranged paid leave, and I was asked to sign documents stating that I could not go to the press or anyone else with the story (I had collected evidence).
While the energy was not there at the time to fight further, and thereto it was me in a younger version - I have always wondered if I should have handled it differently and voiced the unfairness. Surely, within the very question - following me to this day - rests the answer.
