Sedgwick Studios is a state-of-the-art mountaintop recording and media production facility located in an undisclosed location near Asheville, NC. We have intentionally created a unique, secure and secluded film and recording environment surrounded by 12,000 acres of stunning wilderness in complete comfort. High-profile individuals can be free of distractions, media pressures or outside intrusions.
It is this “conditioned” space that brings out inspired performances and accelerates creativity for audio as well as film products. In addition, AI has access to scientifically and clinically proven technologies to enhance the creative process. AI has companies affiliated with all major performance rights organizations such as is a SESAC, BMI, and ASCAP as well as international affiliations for specific markets. We have a great staff of 30+ technical and support personnel as well as “really nice” vintage equipment and instruments to compliment the ultra-modern technology. Art and Ideas…
At Artists International and Sedgwick, this “conditioned” space helps bring out very emotional and authentic performances, whether they are music projects or the presentation of ideas in films or audio formats. Regarding music projects, we’re after authentic, real music…from artists that are the “real deal.” We’re not interested in synthetic, homogenized, manufactured music. In our view, art is important, and good art should give us all a sense of our potential…it is perhaps the pinnacle of human self-actualization that touches the soul and lives on beyond our transitory lives…
Another thing that is unique about AI is that we are known for putting out some of the most cutting edge media in the health-science and organizational practice fields. These products have revolutionized many aspects relating to minimizing human suffering and pain, both physical and psychosocial especially with the end-of-life community including hospice and palliative medicine. So, it’s about art and ideas at AI…and really, art and music can be viewed simply as platforms for the expression of ideas. They are fundamentally intertwined in our view. So whether we’re recording or filming an “authentic” bluesman, a jazz talent, progressive mental group, bluegrass or a scientist explaining how the brain works…all these would be of interest to us as long as it’s authentic and substantive. Our main facility has your normal control room and various recording spaces and some pretty “unique” features. For example, there is a large reflective space built not only for capturing big musical sounds like “arena-like” drums or delicate string sections, but it also serves for conferences for some of the most advanced and futuristic thinking in the sciences and academia, as well as in the arts, hosting song writing forums and creative gatherings. As state previously, this is a creative refuge for art and ideas. You could look at it like as a retreat center for art and creativity. We are interested in the purest pursuit of human expression and seek to promote and make commercially viable artistic and conceptual works in a way that is mutually beneficial for the artist and AI, bringing business balance to art through our licensing and professional networks. In our view, new and innovative business models need to be explored in audio and film. In the past, we’ve been able to impact different industries and millions of people every year. We apply these same models directly to the arts.
