About the filmmakers:
The Noblitt family includes three kids, Nicolas (13), Nate (9) and Eliza (7), along with Natalie, Jeff and Sheila (grandmother) who live in the household.
Nicolas Noblitt is a wheelchair user who has cerebral palsy and hearing loss because of his extreme premature birth. Nicolas is also a working SAG-AFTRA actor based in Los Angeles. Eliza Noblitt also works as an actress in commercials and tv.
The Noblitts created this mockumentary originally for the Easter Seals Disability Film Challenge Home Edition 2021 to portray a more inclusive future in film and other media. They envision a time where actors with disabilities find authentic representation to be commonplace, unlike it is now. The family has a love of classic movies, and it shows in this film. The Wheelchair Stays in the Picture features riffs on many iconic movie scenes while showing the passion the mockumentary subjects have for film, starting at a young age.
I’d love it if we could all #trykindness more often. @kristinakuzmic and her team did a great job putting together this video letting kids speak up about #bullying. My son @nicnoblitt is one of the featured kids! He’s dealt with mean or ride people but thankfully no true bullying . I try to teach my kids to talk to us and defend themselves.
