We uploaded another classic show from the Drag Racing 98 series from Willowbank Raceway. This one includes a mini feature on the 1998 Rocket Industries Australian Junior Dragster Titles.

This time we've got the Travelaire Tours Pro Stock Challenge, plus a Top Alcohol Match Race, a big field of tough Supercharged Outlaws contesting Top Comp, all the Sportman finals and a special mini-feature on the Rocket Industries Australian Junior Dragster Titles.
Sorry it's been a while, but to be honest, we're running out of programs that have been digitised. We have years of programs sitting on the original broadcast tapes but unless we can get our YouTube Channel up to 1,000 subscribers that's where they'll stay unfortunately as now being old, retired grotty yachties, we can't afford to get them converted unless there's at least something coming in from YT. So make sure SUBSCRIBE to the channel over on YouTube to help preserve more Australian Drag Racing history. Subscribing is FREE so shouldn't be hard.

HELP US BRING YOU MORE CLASSIC TV SHOWS FREE
Have a look at the photo below of one of our original old TV broadcast tapes being digitised before that huge, ancient Betacam SP player kicked its rods. Unfortunately the vast majority of our TV shows still only exist on tape which is deteriorating with age. We would love to rescue them by getting them digitised before they are lost forever but quite frankly, now being retired, we can't justify the expense ourselves to provide FREE viewing. To help all you need to do is go over to our YouTube Channel and SUBSCRIBE. https://www.youtube.com/
If we reach 1,000 subscribers, based on our current viewing figures, YouTube would pay us a very few meagre dollars a month which would go towards making this happen progressively over time. This page has 2,200 Followers so even if half make the effort it would be awesome. Please get it a thought. We added a few extra photos from the most recent show for your interest.

George Wegener is well known for his exploits in Super Sedan but he also competed in Super Stock in G/Gas trim with his Corolla Sprinter that must have done 10,000 runs by now. One thing we were really proud of when producing Willowbank Raceway's Drag racing TV Show back in the day was showing a lot of Sportsman Racing. All categories of cars and bikes right down to Junior Dragster, if you made a final, you got some airtime on Channel 7 and Foxsports. LATEST VIDEO When the Pro Stars take on the Kings of Sportsman Racing

The 1998 Winters Smash Repairs Track Championship Finals featured packed Sportsman fields which included a number of Pro category racers such as Mark Brew in the Top Alcohol Dragster and Les Winter in the 55 Chev Top Doorslammer in Top Comp plus the Pro Stockers of Kym Petterwood, Rob Tucker, Mike Reilly and Rod O'Brien amongst the 24 drivers looking for a spot in the tough 16 car Super Comp Field. Six Top Comp racers went into the event still in contention for the Championship while the Comp Bike Title came right down to the wire between John Parker and Gavin Spann. This Episode of Wreckers Hotline Drag Racing is packed full of fantastic Quarter Mile action from Supercharged cars all the way through to Junior Dragster where the famous names of Bray and Harker went head to head in the final.

The Konica Winternationals of 1998 at Willowbank Raceway produced incredibly hard fought racing with all the winners really earning their trophies. With the 2024 Gulf Western Oils Winternationals about to launch Willowbank Raceway into a new era after the track upgrades we thought we'd throw around a few more photos from the 1998 Konica Winternationals. Here's some of the people of '98. We'll add more over the next few days. LED Track Lighting was not a thing back then and these are all screengrabs straight from the TV show so some may be a little dark but such is life.
