Excitement As Oluwo Kick-starts Maiden Football Competition Tagged "Telu Cup"

Ardent lovers of Sports have expressed their excitement as the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, disclosed his readiness to kick-start the maiden edition of a football competition tagged "Telu Cup"

The competition is scheduled to commence next Saturday 25th October, 2023 at Oluwo Stadium in Iwo, Osun State.

Oba Akanbi stated the need to discover bright football talents and promote unity among the young ones necessitated his interest in the competition.

He urged participants to see the competition as an opportunity to showcase their talents and seek support.

A statement released by Oluwo through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, reads "Oluwo Football Competition tagged "Telu Cup" will commence next Saturday 25th November,2023 at Oluwo township stadium, opposite Bowen University,Iwo, Osun by 4pm. As the promoter of the competition, I will be there to flag off the soccer match"

The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court.

Oba Akanbi described the election litigation as strength for Nigeria's democracy, urging litigants to cooperate with President Tinubu in moving the country forward.

I Celebrate Annual God Festival Not To Be Guilty Of Impersonation - Oluwo

As the 2023 annual edition of God Festival draws nearer, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has said he celebrates the annual event to register God as the Supreme Unquestionable King and not to be guilty of impersonation.

Oba Akanbi declared Odun Olodumare has come to stay, affirming his full commitment to protect kingship as an institution of God.

It could be recalled that God Festival (Odun Olodumare) was launched on 9th November,2020 to celebrate and praise The Mightiest King. It's a special day to specially honour God with praises.

The 2023 edition is scheduled to be held next month 9th November, 2023 at Oluwo palace square in Iwo, Osun State. General public who trust in only one God are enjoined to join the special session dedicated to God.

Esie: The S***m And Gomorrah Discovered In Yorubaland

There must be an historical revolution should Africa want to reclaim its glory. The black should be proud of their colour. Your colour is what comes out of you. Yorubas are direct descendants of Adamo. Disappointedly, the early western civilization has been deployed to hide our rich historical background and lineage. Yoruba history started from Adam and Africa, most especially Yorubaland. We are a product of productivity and virility. Of course, we will reclaim our right place in history and in the world.

Just a very few facts have been established by few interested historians while many more are yet to reveal because of the limitation placed on Yoruba greatness by some ancestors. Yorubas are greatness personified. We are the cradle of humanity with empirical evidence.

The first Museum in Nigeria was located in Esie, Kwara State of Yorubaland. The ancient town has unrivalled singular history which placed it at advantage of hosting the first Museum in Nigeria in 1945. Throughout the world, Esie is the only place where human turned to suphuric salt. I've traveled there. I saw one of the wonders of God. The ordeal of Abraham and Lot is well spelt in Bible and Quran. Lot's wife and many people turned into a pillar of salt. They paid for disobedience. International historians are challenged to name other place or location of where human turned to suphuric salt with evidence. There was no Israel at that time.

Original Biblical and Quranic S***m and Gomorrah were in Esie. But the new settlers in the ancient city are not the people of S***m and Gomorrah. Many western historical writers altered the names and locations of many early characters to suit their interest.

Oluwo Writes Nigerians In Diaspora, Calls For Positive Value, Thinking Towards Nigeria

I was a victim like most of you too. I left Nigeria hastily in 198? in search of greener pastures. We saw it coming, the damage done by most past Nigerian leaders is monumental. Indeed, very huge problems have been created. An adage says "a problem identified is half solved" and this is true when people involved have the heart to change it. The hardship in Nigeria was created by the minority because the majority were onlookers. And to make it worse, many diasporans exercise restraint, showing little or no interest in Nigeria once they leave the shores of the country.

Sincerely, diasporans deserve commendations because most of you are making us proud back at home. The blacks are geniuses blazing the trail and leading in their chosen careers among the westerners. Relocating abroad is an herculean task, synonymous with starting life all over again. The opportunities overseas are enormous but what excuse are we to offer our children should we refuse to change the narrative of our own dear nation?

Being a responsible son, you don't throw stones at a house your father built because of its deficiency. You may criticize the bricklayers, builders and others contracted to mould the house but you can not outrightly condemn the house. A pride/patriot is expected to devise a method to remould the house to taste with new architectural designs. I also think that one may even find a better contractor. And I believe this is why there is periodic election to replace incompetent leaders.

Surprisingly, blacks have been discovered and utilized by the western world. We are the architects of most of these great opportunities, our intellectual acumen is an asset to the world. We are pacesetters and trailblazers. The world is challenging our intellect because we have failed to believe in ourselves (country). It may be late but never too late.

I left my comfort zone in Canada to serve my country. Our origin has a tale of whatever we may become in life. Believing and giving back to our origin will tell a lot about our generations. Think positive, give positivity to Nigeria. Our mental orientation has a reflection on our prosperity. Since I returned to Nigeria, I am unarguably the most controversial and most criticized monarch because I refuse to do things the usual old way. When you leave a co**se to a mad man, he may decide to burn it. Abandoning country affairs without a positive contribution from diasporans is inimical to our advancement as a nation. The assimilated western ideas must be transferred to transform our dear nation too. Let's come home. It's no doubt, that with a huge sacrifice, God has a way of compensating everyone. I did it. I have engaged my western experience to change the narrative of Iwo such that, within my less than eight years on the throne, a federal institution has been situated in the marginalized ancient city.

More so, our social media agitations will never change much. Quality governance is never earned in the media. Destructive criticism will yield nothing. One of the means of establishing and stabilizing our country is through collective efforts, devoid of proximity, ethnic, social, religious and cultural attachments.

While calling on the government to strengthen the ministry of foreign affairs, I equally charge the diasporans to trust and believe in Nigeria as the giant and bastion of Africa's credit.

Nigeria @63: Oluwo Expresses Optimism, Calls For Support For The Government

Sometimes we remember our teenage years in reminiscence and smile. Our expression could be that of funny things we have improved on or certain mistakes we made. In such a situation, we derive strength in the areas of improvement while we work harder to have a better tomorrow.

Though, we got our independence so soon. Our emancipation cannot be reversed. Nigeria, as a country of heterogeneous combinations should convert the diversity to strengthen by speaking in unison to address our weakness and improve our strength.

I strongly beseech all of us to support the leaders. No patriot will deny his or her origin. Those presenting Nigeria in a bad image should have a change of approach. Will you all tell me you grow old the same day you were born?

Asmau Haruna AbdulKadir, a high princess from Kano State, has been given in marriage to Otunba of Iwoland,Chief Sikiru Abdulwahab Atanda.

Receiving the princess from the emissaries of Kano Emir in his palace yesterday, Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi,reiterated his commitment to a united Nigeria, saying inter-tribal marriage remains the most vibrant lubricator of national cultural integration and unity.

It could be recalled that Oluwo had earlier in May 2022 tied a nuptial knot with a Kano Princess,Firdaus Abdulllahi now Firdaus Akanbi.

Oluwo said a more united Nigeria is possible if traditional rulers, leaders and stakeholders lead by example by demonstrating high sense of love without sentiment. He described inter tribal marriage as necessary for national cultural integration.

The demise of the rising artist, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly called Mohbad was a colossal loss to Yorubaland, Nigeria and the world at large. I commiserate with his immediate family and the entertainment industry.

While calling on the government to ensure justice prevails on the circumstances surrounding his death, I appeal to the protesting youth to be calm, civil in their conduct and public demonstration. The ardent lovers of Mohbad are enjoined to leave the street and go home. The protest may be hijacked by hoodlums if not properly managed.

Stakeholders are already working to ensure justice for Mohbad. The youth should cooperate with the government by conducting themselves in a peaceful manner.

Desecration of Traditional Institution In Yorubaland By Former President Olusegun Obasanjo -Oluwo

I trust myself and my stool. At death, there are certain things my soul will not take let alone when alive, active and kicking. I only blame the monarchs who stood in obeisance to such an ignoble and desecrating of traditional institutions from the old man. Respects should be earned not demanded.

Traditional Rulers respect their subjects too. There is a way respect is accorded to people of old age and position by monarchs. Kingship is an institution of God. As such, relating with kings requires a high sense of modesty, courtesy and respect.

The display by the former president of Nigeria, General Obasanjo was an affront, an intentional desecration and sacrilege against revered stools of Yorubaland. An injury to one is an injury to all. Yoruba traditional rulers are not uniform men anyone can command at will. I don't blame him, those Royal Fathers who stood up to obey such an embarrassing direction are to be blamed.

Oluwo Visits, Drums Support For Soun Ogbomoso

The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has drummed support for the new Soun Ogbomoso, HRM Oba Afolabi Laoye Ghandi.

Oluwo called on the patriotic princes, chiefs, sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland to cooperate with the new king to move the forward.

Oluwo made the disclosure yesterday during his courtesy visit to the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso.
